I'd like to get Grant Hill.  I suppose it's not that unreasonable either, given his age, that they'd trade him.  I'd definitely trade Walker + Giddens for him, and wouldn't mind trading TA for him, either.

On the other hand, Grant's salary isn't exactly huge and I think he's an expiring anyway, unless they signed a guy who's 37 to a multi-year contract.  So unless the Suns really think they can get something out of Billy, Giddens, and TA that we haven't been able to these last couple of years, I don't know why they'd do it.

They'll find the young in Boston, but not the talent.

Unless the Suns can get a good youngin on a rookie contract (e.g Ty Lawson calibre), they arent trading G Hill - whether or not they blow up the team.

Maybe working a package of TA and Scal around Hill and another player to make the numbers work. But Hill is a skilled played and they will want better expirings if so... Even if they trade Amare, I dont think that means they will be "blowing it up" per say. They still can compete in the last half of the Western playoff scene.

Here's the thing when talking about proposed Suns trades: They've shown that they'll take pennies on the dollar for their assets, so no one is going to initially offer them much more than cap relief and either a low first-round pick or a borderline youngster.

Like I said in my previous answer, when dealing with the Suns, you really can't lowball them enough. You'll recall they traded Shaq for nothing, nada, zip, zilch of value (other than a bigger stack of Benjamins in Bob Sarver's bank account).

So if this is true, and given what they got for Rondo in a trade, Shaq in a trade, other first round draft picks in a trade, and others I would have to think it is true, trading Celtic garbage for actual good players might be a viable option with Phoenix and shouldn't be poo-poo-ed simply because the talents don't match up

They didn't trade Rondo, they traded the pick. To say they didn't get anything back is silly, teams swap or sell first round picks all the time. Most of the picks they sold haven't turned out to be amazing players. If they'd kept the pick they wouldn't have taken Rondo because he can't shoot.

Same thing with the Shaq trade, he's showing his age and that he's not worth $20 million on your payroll. That was a great move to dump his contract.

The deals that really show how the Sun's ownership has screwed them are the Kurt Thomas trade and Joe Johnson trade.
