well its the opening offer

and

I am working on it.

I'll be very impressed if you get a 6th rounder without even giving up a 7th. That would be a steal.

It would also send PLamb into hysterics, I think.

I can top Edgar's offer and offer a 7th and two 9ths for a high 6th.

The Bulls select a wonderful back up for DRose:

Jrue Holiday

Great pick.

Hmmm... I don't know i'd call this wonderful or great...

could someone explain how a 19-year-old backup (Holiday) makes sense for the 21-year-old Rose?

Rose's age hasn't been an issue as far as him leading a team and being the focus of an offense or caused any descent on the team. Meanwhile, Holiday has had no problem backing up the 23 year old Lou Williams and still produce. I really don't see the problem.

At this point, finding a guy with upside like holiday who is still cost controlled is probably preferable over taking an established player with a bigger contract on to play backup (which is what im going to be forced to do in 2 picks)

sorry, hastily penned posts don't help much.

I didn't mean to question Holiday's talent, but rather that the 21-year-old Rose will have his hands full learning the position and won't be able to develop Holiday.

Rose also doesn't benefit from mentoring by a backup.

I know coaches do some of this, but more and more it's clear its the veteran teammates --- the Sam Mitchells (KG), Ray Allens (Rondo) Nate McMillans (Eric Snow) --- that teach young-uns to be true professionals, true stars.

I think too often you have a team with loads of young talent -- take Washington a few years back --- but they can't make that next step b/c no one has taught/mentored that talent to harness their gifts. Heck look at Holiday's PHI team now... loads of young talent, no one to help mold it it seems.

I'd fear that happening with Rose, Holiday or both in this configuration....

just my 2cents.
