With the 17th pick in the round, the Brooklyn Draft Dodgers select: Mike Conley, Jr.

The team also thanks the Phoenix GM for his patience. T(i)P of the hat to you Gomesfan.

And now, the Commissioner has a trade to announce...

  • I left Indiana. Because it was horrible.
On Granger and Hibbert:

As a Pacers season ticket holder, I think I am qualified to discuss.

Granger is the real deal, showcased by his crunch time scoring. He can defend three positions, rebounds well, and can score from anywhere. However, he has regressed this year - he's less aggressive and settles for too many threes. It's possible that he's devolving into Antoine Jr., but unlikely.

Simply put, Granger is a player you can build a franchise around - he'll put up 25-6-3 a night, and will fill any role that is asked of him. You can say the same thing about Odom, only he'll give you less production at a higher age.

Secondly, your assessment of Hibbert is one-dimensional. His post defense isn't great, but his post scoring shows loads of potential. He has an arsenal of moves in the post (all ugly) that are effective, and is an excellent help defender. While solid bigs will abuse him defensively, he's a legit starting center with the potential to be a top 15 big man. Unfortunately, he's inconsistent and fouls too often, and does need to put on weight - but he's a 7'2" center with a smooth jumper and good shot blocking instincts. Everyone in Indiana considers him a building block, along with Granger.

Conversely, no one has considered Odom a foundation piece since his time in Miami.

Even more importantly, you traded away a cheap, rising player at a position of extreme need for a pick where big men are going to be scarce. That part is tough to justify.

So props for going ahead with a gutsy trade and having the nuts to stick your neck out there, but I don't think you got the best of this deal.

Champ -- is Obie really trying to make Granger a PF? I read some things where Granger was admitting that it was taking it's toll on him.

He's running out a small ball lineup where Granger slides into the PF spot pretty often, and it's been more successful than their regular lineups at times. Granger did a great job defending Chris Bosh in a couple of home games and I think that's been the catalyst for it. I think Obie is just seeing Danny camp out at the 3-pt line more and more and is getting flashbacks of 'Toine, so he's trying to get him to do the things Antoine didn't - post up, rebound, defend bigs, etc.
CB Draft Bucks: Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, Tobias Harris, Zach LaVine, Aaron Afflalo, Jeff Green, Donatas Motiejunas, Jarrett Jack, Frank Kaminsky, Lance Stephenson, JaVale McGee, Shane Larkin, Nick Young

DKC Bucks. Also terrible.

.....And with the 18th pick in the round the PHX Suns are happy to announce they will be drafting Spencer Hawesas there Center in the land of the rising sun.

And they would also like to send "Waddles" another TP for not picking him once their able to send another "karma action" in about an hour or so!!!

Thank you Commissioner. The Draft Dodgers are excited to welcome the Niagara Falls' product to our team.

His still developing 3PT shot isn't too great a concern considering it gets awfully windy in the rail yard.

Then you'll be even happier to know that Hawes was going to be our pick if the Flynn/Conley trade fell apart, for the sole purpose of trading him!

(Either because we have a starting center or because his politics won't fly in Brooklyn.)

While sad to see Flynn, who the cats believe has a great future in the league go, We are happy to welcome mike conley and look forward to using our pick to upgrade our non-existent bench.

And another TP going to wiggle when i can, always a great GM to shoot trade proposals back and forth with.

Find a need fill a need, is that how you say it? I needed a center and was surprised he was still a lingering young affordable big man still on the board!

We may need a replacement for the Toaster. This could be a 2nd missed pick.

If he hasn't picked by his allotted time, I'll make two selections for him, and then try to find a replacement.

ok, just popped back on after a couple of hours and saw a whole lot of heat on the trade.  let me catch up on everything before I offer a response but from where I'm sitting, it's not as lopsided as everyone thinks.
