It's been awhile.  I'm not sure how many of the newbies are aware of the infamous "Deli Guy".

Well, this guy has gotten some attention for his twitter / site, at the very least.

When asked to decide between the random site nobody has ever heard of and the Boston Herald, I'll trust the Herald.  That being said, unknown sources do occasionally break stories.

This trade doesn't make much sense to me.  There's got to be more involved in the trade coming from our side for them to give us Kryptonate.

The Knicks would have to expect a pick or something from us, at least.

I think the Herald is a bit to extreme in its position... it pretty much also debunks Spears' claim that discussions are going on, and I think Spears has earned quite a bit of reliability.

A couple things....  It's been widely reported that Nate's contract is a BYC and the Knicks can only take back 1/2 of it's value. Nate makes 4,000,000.  Walker + House is 3,598,420, which is way over the 2,000,000 that NY can take back.   So, there either has to be more to this or it isn't House and Walker for Nate.

Second, I don't believe anything that anyone says as I remember hearing Danny say on WEEI that they had absolutely nothing in the works and weren't looking to make a trade just hours before he made the trade for Wally.  Most of the rumors are just that.  That being said, Marc Spears has proven to be a very reliable source over the last couple years and has broken some other big news.  The Herald is more than likely towing the party line and regurgitating what Danny feeds them.

From what I've read, I'm not sure that the Herald debunks Spears.  Spears simply says an offer was made, but doesn't give a time frame.  It very well could have been a few weeks ago, when Nate said he wanted to play for the Celtics.

The Herald confirms that an offer was made earlier this season, but that the teams are not currently talking.

I think those two reports are consistent, barring further information.

Let me remind you guys that D'Antoni likes to play his own special rotations (players he think can contribute), and House played for D'Antoni in Phoenix where he was a steady threat in the playoffs. I remember him not putting up consistent numbers, but he hit the most crucial daggers late in games! I saw the Suns-Lakers and Suns-Mavs series in 2006, and D'Antoni would love to have House late in games.

I remember House having a spectacular regular season ... and then falling apart in the playoffs and that being the reason why Phoenix let him leave to the NJ Nets.

Stats on playoff run with Suns -- 36.5% FG%, 21.4% from three, only 6 assists (5 turnovers) in 13 games -- he couldn't shoot the ball, couldn't handle the ball, couldn't run the offense, couldn't play defense.

Regular season -- 10 points in 17 minutes a night, 42% from the field, 39% from three -- he was instant offense. I remember some articles in the media wondering whether he deserved consideration for Sixth Man of the Year.

That's my recollection of House's time with the Suns.

You guys do remember July 2007, when a guy broke it and nobody believed him until it eventually heated up several hours later?

Yea, that's the thing. I could see the Knicks giving up Nate for Eddie. D'Antoni says letting House walk was one of his biggest regrets in Phx. There is no way Nate is in blue and orange next summer after being whipped around this season by D'Antoni.

If he was expecting Lebron in NY this summer, he would want the House type role players to play alongside Lebron. I think Nate would fit here better because we need someone to handle the ball, and I think Lebron would have that handled in NY. I mean, obviously they could just pick him up in the summer, but you know how much easier it is to retain a guy when he is with your team.(I think NYK could retain House's bird's)

These things are so hit or miss, though.  I also remember that Rashard Lewis was signing with Boston and that Reggie Miller was coming to Boston.
