Take it with a grain of salt :

The tweets :

Nate Robinson to the Celtics? Almost a done deal... that's what I'm hearing....    about 1 hour ago   from web

@PistonsNation @MrMikeJay Eddie House and Bill Walker... that is the word thru the g-vine...

@MrMikeJay I like the deal for C's but I do not think the Knicks will do it... makes sense for BOTH teams since T/O 4 Walker and House exp.

@astylez215 RT @thehoopsforum Nate Robinson to the Celtics? Almost a done deal... that's what I'm hearing - who's the trade?? House & Walker

If it's true I don't know if we really are winners in the trade. I would hate to see Eddie go.

Can I also just mention that this deal makes no sense for the Knicks? They're getting expirings for expirings, so where is the angle for NY?

According to Red's Army, the Walker/House combo for Robinson doesn't work straight up (per RealGM's trade checker). So they are probably just part of the deal and a first pick is certainly involved... it this is true, of course.

If this is true, Hopefully House is waived and he comes back to us.

I wonder about the FRP being involved. I think it's probably more likely that Jared Jefferies is involved.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
If Nate keeps his head in the right place this is an easy win for the Celtics. Billy might do well in NY under D'Antoni who doesn't really care about the defensive side of the ball. This would also free up a roster spot. If I were Eddie I wouldn't be too happy, though.

Considering they didn't play Nate for a number of games it probably beats a buyout.

Is it? Over the past 9 games where they've gone 5-4, Robinson is averaging 30+ points per 48 (9th in the league), and averaging 15.0 pts, despite very sporadic playing time

They have to be getting something more out of this.

Well, I know "Thehoopsforum"'s Twitter is a pretty reliable source, but I'm holding out to hear what CROTOR has to say first.  ;)

If we got Nate here it'd be a shame if Eddie had to go to get him...but he and Walker would probably fit into the Knick's offense pretty well.  Eddie just can't consistently score for us off the bench any more, and Nate could.  That's probably all there is to it.

Billy is not expiring. His contract is unguaranteed over the next two years. So with that flexibility, he could be seen as some upside for the Knicks.

I don't know if the hoopsforum is a reliable source, I've never heard of them before.

And an article has just been posted on CB's front page, coming from the Herald, which basically says that the deal won't be done so I don't know what to think.

That's on the Twitter profile, so at least we're dealing with a source from Boston.

That said, the Herald does seem more reliable. :(
