For the Clippers, Eric Gordon and Blake Griffin is a no-brainer, right?  Young, cost-controlled, future All-Star talent at both spots.  Baron Davis and Chris Kaman are both good players, but their contracts are ugly.  How exactly do we account for injuries in this?

Truck, my opinion is that Tyreke and Kevin Martin won't coexist all that well - there's only one ball.  I'd go with Thompson if it were me.

the Kings will be keeping Tyreke Evans as their franchise player...

there is still heavy debate in the Kings front office over keeping Kevin Martin or Jason Thompson...thoughts?

Who is worth most in a trade?

Thing is....thompson is nowhere near a top 2 pick in this draft...Martin is much closer skillwise..and if he doesn't select Martin as one of his 2, or with his 1st overall, he won't make it out of the top 5 picks guaranteed.

I'd say Thompson or Hawes. Evans is not a point guard, once Martin comes back the two will have problems playing together. You do not want that problem to carry over to your fictional team.

maybe the fictional Kings, move Tyreke to SF and draft a true PG

It seems that everyone is going young with cheap contracts. However, if everyone goes cheap contracts and stay away from the more expensive players this will prevent player movement in free agency. With the majority of teams under the cap, teams will have to pay up for all their players with the knowledge that other teams will do so if they don't.

With this in mind I might pick expensive players with the idea that cap space will mean less in a league where everyone has cap space. Thoughts on this? Does that makes sense?

I feel that Evans is not big enough to play the 3 even in a fictional world.

Gah I'm always in the middle of the pack. Are we announcing who we're keeping now or a different date?

They're due by January 29.  They can be announced any time before then.

I think you may be putting too much emphasis on contracts.

I know my fictional owner doesn't care how much we spend on our roster.

Fair enough but I will use this as my rationale when I have a 100+ million dollar pay roll. I'm not saying I'm putting too much emphasis on contracts but I believe others will.

Smith and Johnson.
