I am wondering if anyone in hear would welcome him in as a Celtic? I sure would. Can play team D and can score unlike anyone else on the 2nd unit. Well What do you guys think. Here is a link as well

He is exactly the type of guy I would look at in a buyout.  He can handle the ball, is a passable shooter, and has shown the ability to defend.  I think he would be a great pickup.

Count me in even if it comes at the later expense of jettisoning Bill Walker or JR Giddens who I feel won't be here next year anyway

he wouldn't be a bad pick up, but I have been terribly disappointed in his career.

I think he would fit in well here. and could let Eddie play off the ball more. So hopefully this could come true. He can also relieve Ray Allen and play with the fist unit.

I'm not crazy about him.  He's perpetually disgruntled because he thinks he's better than he is, and he's shooting 38% from the field, but I guess he'd be more useful than Walker or Giddens.  But instead of taking a headcase like Hughes, we may as well take a chance on a more talented headcase like Nate Robinson.  Similar risk, much higher reward.

He's a streaky shooter but he's better than any other 2 or 3 we have coming off the bench.  Plus, he's capable of random ridiculous games (he had a 20 pt 20 reb game earlier this year).

He can also handle the ball well, which would make him an ideal accompaniment to Eddie House.  He probably has better size to play the 3 than Marquis, too.

Of course, if we acquire Hughes then either Marquis or Tony isn't going to get minutes anymore (probably TA).  Though I think I'd rather sit Eddie and play Hughes or Marquis at PG.

It'd be nice to have two ballhandlers on the second unit.

He's Marquis... minus the awareness of his own limitations. He's a bad shooter plain and simple. We don't need another wing who can't shoot Tony is a better option. Oh and did I mention he's injury prone.

Marquis Daniels: 2009-2010 FG% - .469
                 Career FG% - .457
                 2009-2010 3pt FG% - .250
                 Career 3pt FG% - .237
Tony Allen: 2009-2010 FG% - .500
                 Career FG% - .474
                 2009-2010 3pt FG% - .000
                 Career 3pt FG% - .299

Larry Hughes: 2009-2010 FG% - .363
                 Career FG% - .408
                 2009-2010 3pt FG% - .293
                 Career 3pt FG% - .309

Okay, they're all pretty bad shooters.  Larry Hughes can actually hit a 3 pointer some of the time (a la Sheed), while Tony and Marquis are pretty much dead weight from out there.  Hughes has a low fg%, and that's mainly because he takes a lot of jumpshots and he's very streaky.  He started out the year on a ridiculous hot streak, and has been on a cold streak for some time now.  He can hit shots though (unlike Marquis and Tony), and he has more than a couple other useful skills as well.

I agree, though, he's not great, and might not be as much an upgrade as we'd hope.  Still, he's the kind of player that could have a random big game and win us a game in the playoffs.  Isn't it worth signing him for the minimum after he gets bought out, if there's a chance he comes up big for us once or twice?  If we're gonna make a trade, we're probably going to trade TA anyway.

Sure you can call Marquis dead weight from the three, but Tony and Hughes are in the same place. The thing is it's not a good idea for any of those guys to take the 3. Tony and Quis know that the three isn't for them Hughes hasn't had that epiphany yet. A 30% 3point shooter taking a 3 is almost always a win for the defense. The hot shooting streaks are the only thing keeping hughes from being absolutely terrible player. The shooting percentages tell you the whole story. Tony and Daniels are way more efficient scoring the ball despite be slight worse 3pt shooters.

I'd love to see Larry Hughes brought on board. He's a good backup to the oft-injured Marquis Daniels and is more reliable than Tony Allen. Provides nice depth on the wing.

He's not my favorite player in the league, but for a minimum contract, I'd bring him on.

Another terrible shooter off the bench. If you add Larry to the roster we need to cut or Trade Tony and JR. Addition by subtraction.
