Ray Allen

4

Kevin Martin, Andres Nocioni

Other teams could have better offers. But our only chance to get Kevin is to take Andres Nocioni off their books. So we get Kevin Martin to replace Ray in starting lineup. And Andres as perhaps 7th or 8th man off the bench.

I'm hoping this moves eases the transition after the big3. And keep the Celtics contenders now and in the future. Kevin Martin is one of the top scorer in the NBA. He is a super efficient player, and practically earns his living from the free throw line. The best part he is entering his prime. The risk is his history of injuries, and lack of bulk to defend bigger shooting guards.

Yes, I would in a heartbeat. I love Ray and I hope they just buy him out but it simply makes too much sense not to.

Kevin Martin is an awful defender, significantly worse than Ray Allen. On top of that, he is injury prone.

Is he a better player than Allen? Yes. Is he a better fit? Probably not, given how well Allen has accepted his role on offense and defense.

And the bottom line is that with or without him, we'd still need KG to really have a shot at the title.

In any case, there is absolutely no way the Kings are doing this trade. All Allen would offer them is cap relief, but they will already be under the cap next season. And while Nocioni's deal is bad, you don't trade a player like Martin to get rid of a 7 mill contract.

Bottom line is, this trade will not happen, and even if it did, it would not improve our chances this year all that much.

If they buy out Ray and he returns,of course. Martin is a better player at this point and he is also a much better defender than Ray...

No (except if Ray returns but such a scenario wouldn't happen so no).

Of course. But why on earth should the Kings do it?

yes but .........I would give them more if it was aloud in trade deal but they would have to give us more. So why not a Ray and Scal trade for Martin and what ever they would have to give back to match the money. We would get substantially younger.

how bout.....
Ray
Scal
TA
Walker

for.....

Martin
Nocioni
Beno
it works on trade machine, I don't think they would do it but they would be getting a lot of moneys in expiing contracts and if we thew in a # 1 pick it would give them nore incentive.I was also thinking we could go after Troy Murphy and as an incentive take on TJ FORF SINCE THEY ARE HELL BENT ON GETTING RID OF HIM

If you take out TA and Walker, is still works.  Throw in cash and two 1sts, and you have the best offer the Celtics can give.

And it is still likely not enough.

Its not a bad deal for the Kings - Losing Nocioni would be huge for them, but Im sure they'll have better offers out there.

I think the Kings would be willing to consider this type of trade (salary dump) in a Kevin Martin trade if Martin struggles alongside Tyreke Evans. I don't see Sacramento trading Martin in this fashion (salary dump) otherwise.

Unfortunately, for the Celtics, they're up against the clock. The trading deadline is only one month away and the Kings are nowhere close to deciding that Martin + Evans need to be broken up. So that duo would have to be awful over the next few weeks for the Celtics to have any chance of prying him away (very low likelihood).

Ray for Martin in Udrih.

I don't want Nocioni.

The Kings do it to save money.

If the Kings are for it absolutely! If he can get a clean bill of  health, I see him being a better player in every way except size compared to Ray. He'll boost firepower short term and be a great piece long term (Rondo/Martin/Perk). If he can bulk up, the C's will have the best backcourt in the league.

Maybe We could grab Tyreke Evans?  ;D In my Dreams!
