Norv Turner and Nate Kaeding need to avoid San Diego for the next week or two.

Not that I blame Norv much, I think his game plan was an effective one. The team committed dumb penalties and his normally reliable kicker choked.

Yeah, but how many times does a coach need to see his team choke before he becomes a large part of the problem?

You're right, Turner called a good enough game to win, but it shouldn't have been that close in the first place.

I can't feel too sad, since I like Manning in the Colts.  Still, I hate myself for being dumb enough to bet on a Norv Turner team to advance in the playoffs.

Norv should lose his job for this game.  If he doesnt do kick an onside kick and just kick off the Jets cant risk going for it on 4th down backed way down in their own territory.  Theyd have to punt.

True that.  The only way I can defend Turner is if he didn't trust Kaeding to hit a long field goal, and was hoping to get the ball back for a chance at a TD.

I think it was a dumb decision, though.  If they'd kicked deep, they would have probably got the ball back with about 1:30 left, starting from at least their 35 yard line.  Not smart.  If I was San Diego, I'd give Bill Cowher whatever he wanted to come coach the team.

Fair enough, I do hope SD keeps him though.

I'd like for Chicago to make a run at Cowher if Lovie can't turn it around.  ;)

Man its a good thing I don't gamble, I'd have lost serious money. I've been wrong on most of the games this year.

What are everyone's thoughts for the Superbowl? I think we get the Colts/Saints match up that everyone thought was a lock early.

I'm thinking it'll probably be Colts/Saints.  I'm starting to think that whoever wins Saints-Vikings is going to win the Super Bowl. I like how both teams match up with the Colts.  Both teams have solid secondaries and relatively balanced offenses.  Both teams would be able to put up points on that Colts defense.

Of course, it would be sort of fitting to see the Jets beat the Colts. Sort of a karmic justice after the Colts rolled over in their last meeting.  However, I think that one trick pony's ride finally ends this weekend.

When do they stop blaming the coach and start looking at the makeup of the team?  Let's not act like it is just Norv.  This team underperformed under Marty as well in the playoffs.

I can honestly say I am happy to see my least two favorite QBs (because of the yapping those teams fans did) lose yesterday.

Norv Turner gave LT 15 touches, and Sproles only 6 + returns.

That alone makes me question whether or not he should stay.

But he didn't make his pro-bowl kicker miss three kicks.  A kicker that has choked in the past in the playoffs.
