So i purposed this trade in another thread but would like to open the door for other creative ideas on getting somebody or players for the Pistons. My idea is

BBD,Scal,TA,J.R. Giddens and either cash or future pick

For

Tayshaun Prince and Chucky Atkins and cash or something.

I think this deal could help immensely for this team to bring a real defender to the 2nd unit who has chemistry with Sheed and can knock down the corner three. Also plays the 4 in a small lineup ALA James Posey. So they seem to be going Youth in Detroit.. Let me hear your idea or if you think mine is a good one.

Having Prince on the team makes for a really expensive bench player - even if it is only for a year or two.

He has never been a reliable offensive weapon.  I really think we need a scorer as that backup 3 man off the bench.

I know the Pistons overall have been in decline, but i am surprised that he hasnt shown real grit and leadership this year.  If the Pistons can trade him, then good luck to them.

I think the only guy on that Pistons team that i would like to see in green is Rodney Stuckey.  Kid has played well on a crappy team.

Last year, i would have added Jason Maxiell to that short list, but this year i have no idea what has happened to him.  If anyone could shed some light on this????

I just looked at their roster, expecting to find some interesting trade situation.. But no, not really. All of their decent players have terrible contracts.

Rip would be nice, but not for the money.

Prince is like 97 years old, he's probably played more basketball in his career than 99.9 percent of other players. With 10 million this year and probably 11 coming next year, I don't think so.

Ben Gordon might be an option, but they're not trading him.

Villanueva's contract is pretty bad, too.

With that said, the only thing I can come up with is Scals for Wilcox and Atkins.

He sucks, that's what happened to him.  He sucked last year too, so not sure why you wanted him.

BTW, don't want Prince anymore.  He's not playing well and he seems to have been injured a lot lately.  If we can get him for scraps, however, I'd take him.  Not at the expense of Baby though.

Big Body, high energy, runs the court well.  Coupled with the fact he earns $5 mil a year, what wasnt to like about him.

This year the Pistoms are short on big men, yet his minutes have not increased one iota.  I'm guessing his conditioning wont allow it.  He may be in for a busy offseason.

If ownership was willing to take on that contract, I'd happily have Tayshaun Prince on this team. He's a bit of a risk with the injury but the upside of having him here if he can healthy is far greater.

What do you see him bringing to the table? His back is a major problem....

I'm not sure how much of a problem is back is and will be by the time the playoffs roll around.

Tayshaun Prince is still a very talented player. A good-to-very good defensive player. Solid rebounder. Good passer. Can play multiple positions and multiple roles offensively (post game, movement off the ball, passer at the top of the key, ball handler + passer, stand still shooter). Good shooter with a balanced offensive game. Excellent versatility.

If he's your sixth man, you've got one heck of a talented player on your hands.

I agree he hasn't played as well and the injuries are the likely cause. That has to create a little doubt, however if they would trade Prince for BBD then Danny does that without any hesitation. Detroit won't do that deal though. We're the only team who overvalues BBD. (At least the fans. The offseason proved DA didn't)

Whatever we do in the way of trades, we need to at least make sure that the piece we are getting in return has an excellent history of health.    ::)

We are a two team household: I've converted my SO to watch the Celtics (she screams louder at the TV than I do), and she has me watching Pistons games (she's from Detroit). So I've seen a good share of Pistons games in the last few years.

Prince: a nightmarish fluke of a season due to injuries. He recovers from a ruptured disc in time to sustain a knee injury (hopefully, just a bruise). His asking price has probably never been lower. I actually think it's good time to buy. Smart, multitalented, good defender. High price tag for a bench player, no question.

Maxiell: has suffered the last two years under two rookie coaches who have really yanked him around, from starting to DNP-CDs. I think if he could get a change of scenery to someplace where he'd be assured of 15 minutes a night, it'd do him good. He's an effective, albeit undersized rebounder. For everyone missing Leon Powe, Maxiell would cheer you right up.

This idea is really just a trade for the sake of a trade.

We're losing 2 guys that are in our top 9 rotation. We don't improve in any way.
