Just wanted to show everyone posts from the Celtics blog at boston.com    Even in a blowout win the reporter paid to watch Celtics games had these things to say about the second half tonight.  Hopefully gives a little pespective to those who keep confusing criticism with negativity.

What percentage of the reporter's comments were critical?  One gets called "negative" when there's not much of a balance in their comments.

The only critical comments posted were when the Celtics were playing poorly which makes sense doesn't it?  Even in a blowout win there is always room for criticism.

Fourth quarter, 5:48 Celtics 97-77

A really bad second half for the Celtics, who have scored 26 points after piling up 71 in the first half. The bench looks confused. The starters played too many minutes and all the momentum generated by a dominating first half is nearly gone.

End of third quarter, Celtics 90-64

A really bad quarter for the Celtics, 7-for-18 from the field, nine turnovers and just 19 points after scoring 71 in the first half. Still, it's going to be a win at Izod Center and Doc Rivers should give the starters some rest. Paul Pierce has 24 points in 28 minutes.

Third quarter, 2:15, Celtics 86-60

The lead is 26 but the Celtics are playing a terrible quarter with seven turnovers in nine minutes, and the Nets nearly got within 20 but order is being restored. Paul Pierce has 22

Some of those comments are also asinine. "The starters played too many minutes": Rondo played the most with 29! Ray-25, Perk-26, PP-28 and the other starter was Scal. "The momentum generated..."? It was the deep bench playing at that point. One can't say that the starters played too much, which they didn't, and then say all momentum was lost when you are talking about guys numbered 9-12, and Eddie, playing in the game. Even reporters can be wrong. ;)

Here's the last entry, btw:

Final Celtics 111-87

The bench put in some good work in the final four minutes and the Celtics walk away with an easy wil. Bill Walker had six points in six minutes, including a vicious dunk on Josh Boone. Paul Pierce finishes with 24 as seven Celtics scored in double figures.

Obviously the critical comments were posted when the Celtics were playing poorly which in tonight's case was the majority of the second half.  Nice to see objective reporting even in a blowout

When the Celts score a basket it's good.  When they don't it's bad.

When they stop the Nets from scoring, it's good.  When they don't it's bad.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

And he's dunking like that after 7 knee surgeries. Imagine the hops him and Bill Walker had before the injuries...

Well, I just saw the game. Don't know if we can call it a "game" though, since the Celtics dominated from start to finish.

Good old fashion blowout, plenty of rest for the starters, some highlight dunks for Billy and TA... good win, and good warmup for the Bulls back to back game. ;D

That picture is beautiful.  Kinda looks like Michael Jordan.  Wow.  It's an old subject but during every game i think or mention that I wonder how Tony's career would have been if he had never gotten hurt or lost any athletic ability.  That looked like a rookie year dunk from Tony, but usually I can notice a small decrease in athleticism.

They've been replaying it on all the sports shows this morning ... you can't tell as easily from this pic as you can on the the vid, but he was partially behind the backboard when he dunked it. It's a shame, because Tony has always had a Jordan-esque athleticism and amazing physical abilities, but has squandered it on questionable behavior and poor decisions, and had some bad breaks with injuries. I always try to wish such people the best, but with TA's track record and history of bad choices/decisions, it's very hard to get behind him. I'm cautiously hopeful for his sake, because someone with such gifted abilities should make the most of them, but I'm hesitant to be too positive in his case, just for the fact that he's blown such opportunities so many times before. I pray he DOES get his life together and start making better choices ... it would be a refreshing change to see him really turn things around, and we need the boost on the team right now, and any help we can get. Awesome pic.

Tony's combination of hops, catlike hand quickness, speed, and most importantly quickness were at an absolutely etite level.  Far superior to other good athletes we have had such as Gerald, Bill Walker, and Giddens.  Tony was on another planet.
