This one is realistic and really feasible, and I think it has never been mentioned before, although it would be a great trade for Boston!
Here is the trade :
Boston sends Scalabrine (expiring) to Milwaukee, Boston receives
Charlie Bell (3 year contract, with about 4 million per year)
or Boston sends Tony Allen and JR Giddens (expirings) to Milwaukee, Boston receives Charlie Bell.
Contract-wise, the two scenarios work. I think the second one would appeal more to the Bucks since they get a guard/wing and a guard in the process so they can deal with Bell's loss.
I have not seen a lot of Charlie Bell so any informations about his game (strenghts and weaknesses, etc) would be welcome, but from what I've seen and read, I think he would be a great backup guard for Ray. The only problem I can think of with Charlie Bell is his height (6-3) but other than that he seems like a great fit. Here are Hoopshype's comments about Bell :
explosive scorer... Likes to shoot the three... Good athlete... Tough defender... Has improved his playmaking skills... Was a superstar in Europe.
He is a great roleplayer, he can shoot the three very well (36% career), he can drive, he shares the ball, and he is a good defender.
Do you think Bell would be a good addition? And do you think Milwaukee would do the deal? The Bucks may be reluctant to trade him since he plays 25 minutes per game for them and contributes a lot this season, but they would still be in playoffs contention, and the deal would give them a financial relief since Charlie Bell has 3 year, and about 4 million per year contract.
I don't know if they could save even more money by waiving Scal or TA/Giddens.
Although there will probably other interesting options on the market before the trade deadline (Raja Bell most notably), I think the Charlie Bell deal would be great for Boston and it stands as the most likely trade to be done with our expirings. Bell can contribute a lot, allow Ray to rest during the season, his contract is worth his value (he is 30 years old and doesn't make much money so his 3 year contract is really fair, and way better than all the bad contracts of good players we could get).
A second unit of House/Bell/Marquis/Baby/Sheed would be really, really good in my opinion.
