So he's a smart player that is playing less dumb after 3 months? I hope you're right
He's adjusting his game in response to his poor shooting and to what the team wants/needs. What else would you have him do?
How is shooting 7 threes today adjusting his game in response to poor shooting?
What is "his game"? Just hiking out at the three point line?
I would have him go to the hoop every single conceivable time and try to draw fouls and get better shots. Then if it's not working pass the ball. You know. Play like he's 6ft 11 or something. And I would have had him do it from day one, not after three months.
He also had 6 free throws tonight. He took 7 shots from three because he was hot from there, are you going to criticize him for even making 3's now?
No. If he's hot he's hot. He's allowed to have a good game here and there, which is about what he is, but it doesn't excuse him for three months of lazy and poor offensive play.
Who's to say if he had shot it closer that he wouldn't have got hot from there?
What are you saying? That it's ok and essentially a good thing for a player Sheed's size to hike out at the three point line, shoot a bunch of threes routinely, and hit about 25%?
Are you saying it's ok as long as he occasionally has a game like he did tonight?
What if Perk started doing this? What if Perk started hiking out at the the three line and shooting about 6 a game and making 25%?
Is that ok cause suddenly that's "his game" and then he has a game like Sheed did tonight?
Exact same thing
Your are so biased against Sheed that your points are just totally off topic.
Perk don't shoot threes because he can't make them. Sheeds shoots them because he can make them. He has struggled from three this season but tonight's game, like others, show that he has the ability to make threes, and a lot of them.
He did take less threes when he was in a serious slump, and he plays in the post when our team needs a crucial bucket.
Like you, I would be even more satisfied if Sheed played 90% of the time in the post, but he has never done it for his entire career and when we signed him I knew (and Danny, Doc, and everybody on the team knew it) that he wouldn't change his game.
Rasheed has a lot of skills, and he prefers to shoot threes rather than go in the post, but he has had a good balanced type of game this season.
You can throw all the stats you want about all the 3's he has attempted so far but if you watch the games, you know he has a balanced game, switching between game in the post, midrange shots and three point shots.
And you are totally overlooking his defensive contributions, I can't count all the steals Sheed got us this season and the overall excellent D he played on his opponent.
All I'm saying is that Sheed has no more flaws than the other Celtics of this roster, but he does has the role of the scapegoat for fans. It's easy to blame him for the losses.
Sheed haters only come up when he has bad games and stay silent when he plays great or good. This is why I find these threads ridiculous.
The only fair criticism Sheed can take this season is that he is out of shape and doesn't play his butt off every night.
But he contributes a lot defensively, offensively he has ups and downs and he struggles from three but the shots he takes are good ones, in the flow of the offense, and when he is wide open.
