I know Toronto doesn't want to let Bosh leave without getting anything in return but... Bosh for Hinrich, his putrid contract and Thomas? Are you kidding me? This trade would be excellent for the Bulls and awful for the Raptors.

but would it be that hard for the Bulls to sweeten it?

If the end result can be Rose, Bosh and Wade, plus whomever....I would think the Bulls would/should throw more at Toronto...I don't know about the Wade part though (legal to fish around that strongly for a player's intent?  happens all the time?  me don't know)

I could see Bosh wanting to go to Chicago and Chicago obviously wanting that, but not for that package? As someone else mentioned, I can't see Colangelo getting that little for Bosh. Trading big for small and oft injured Deng?

I suspect that Bosh has informed that Raptors that he won't be signing an extension with them or exercising his player option for next year.  If that's the case, they have to get what they can between now and the deadline.

Hinrich, Tyrus Thomas (not Tim) and an unprotected first round pick would be a perfectly good deal for Toronto. For one thing, Bosh is overrated-- he's a marshmallow.   Certainly it's better than letting him walk for nothing.

We could send Baby, TA, Scal, etc... and a 1st round pick. That clears more money and you get a better player.

I'm not sure that IS better than nothing. Why bloat the payroll with a 3 yr long contract for a solid but declining player when you're already overpaying for a crappy team? Rather just let him walk, probably.

Well, that's another way to look at it, but Hinrich isn't a bad player and neither is Tyrus Thomas.  I don't view either player as grossly overpaid.  Plus, Chicago's first rounder will likely be a lotto pick.

Frankly, Toronto is going nowhere with Bosh, and Chicago won't go anywhere with him either, so I view this deal as merely rearranging the deck chairs on two sinking ships.

Even if Bosh has told them he's walking, the deal makes no sense for Toronto. They get a bad contract for an average player in Hinrich, a prospect in Thomas (are you still a prospect in year 4?) and a mid level first rounder. Much better to let him walk or look for a better deal from you. Heck trade him to Houston for McGrady and try to shed a bad contract too.

As for Bosh being a superstar, he's a numbers guy to me. He puts up good numbers but doesn't win. That makes him what a better version of Charles Smith?

If I'm Toronto I'ld ask for:

Hinrich
Gibson
Noah
2010 1st round pick
2012 1st round pick

They get a real center who is yound and defensively minded in Noah. They get a real PF who is young and shows lots of promise in Gibson. They get an excellent wing/guard role player in Hinrich, 2 1st rounders and they save $3 million in salary this year.

Then, if I were them I would do everything I could to dump Reggie Evans and Marcus Banks for expiring contracts, no matter how bad the players.

Marcus Banks would be the perfect back up point guard for the celtics! ::)
