Nay is a good name...you can call him and reprimand him at the same time!    ;)

Funny, I was thinking the other day that if I had a dog, I'd name it Rondo, too.

It might depend on the type of dog

I once had a dog with no legs.

You know what I called him?

It doesn't matter.  He wouldn't come when I called.

It might depend on the type of dog
exactly.

If it's energetic, Rondo's fine.

if it's just likeable but doesn't do much, then it should be Scal.

If it's always barking and driving you crazy, call it Sheed.

Congrats on your new dog.  What kind of dog is it?

I had a Yorkie, but he died two months ago. Me and my family were devastated! :'(

TP for just having a dog.

Rondo is a great name for a dog.

Awww :(

And erm, as for the naming issue: if I'd get a dog or any other type of animal that might listen to a certain name, which will never happen due to allergies, I'd call him "Sir Bartholomew Vanderbilt".

Either that, or I'd do the pet-type-name-switching thing. (e.g.: get a cat and call him Doggy, get a dog and call him Kitty etc)

... or maybe get a mouse and call him Shaq.

.edit: oh, but Rondo is a great name too ;) I bet Rondo will love it.

The dog is a small mixed breed with a fine, all black coat.  He is part Miniature Pinscher and part Chihuahua (we think). We got it from a shelter.  He is just about 10 lbs and should grow to about 15 lbs (they tell us).  And is he quick?  Man, I will tell you that the real Rondo has nothing on this dog.  He's got change of direction as well but not sure about his handles.

I guess it makes perfect sense then. In fact if you don't name him Rondo you'll be thinking it forever. you should probably just do it

Definitely go with Rondo for that type of pup.  Perfect.  Something big, I would go with Perkules.
