The Bulls don't seem to want the Butler contract

Bos trades Ray, JR (and wiaved Hudson or Walker)

   Receives Butler, Thomas and Foye

Chi trades Thomas, Hinrich, and James

   Receives Ray, Oberto and Crittenton

DC trades Butler, Oberto, Foye and Crittenton

   Receives Hinrich, JR and James

Boston strengthens their bench without killing the starters or long term cap flxibility.

Chi clears out a ton of cap space next year to possible add two players to Rose next year.

DC gets Hinrich (who they seem to think would work next to Arenes) as well as dump Crittenton (sacrificial lamb for the locker room old west showdown)

Like the idea, as we get a scoring punch in Butler, A legit back up to Rondo in Foye, and some rebounding help (well a lot) in Thomas. My only concern is the health of these guys. Has Butler ever played 82 games? Is Thomas a 100%? If These guys could last I think we'd be an even better team with stronger D. For all those who don't want to trade Ray because of sentimental values, take a step back. He's old and slowing down a little, and Caron Butler plus Foye as a backup seems like a better backourt than with Ray right now. If we were talking about Pierce, I would have said HELL NO because of his lifelong contribuitions to the C's. What would Red do? I'm not sure but please press the button if Washington and Chicago say yes!

Is there a rumor that Chicago would be willing to dump Thomas to get out of Hinrich's contract?  I'm not a Thomas fan, but he seems to have more value than a pure salary dump.

I don't think the Bulls need to give up any assets to trade Hinrich. I reckon they can get an expiring contract for him.

I'd love to see the Blazers acquire Hinrich. He'd be a very nice fit alongside Brandon Roy. The type of hard nosed veteran that young team needs too.

Anyway, I'm not convinced Chicago is interested in trading Hinrich in a salary dump. I think they're looking for talent in a trade and that's what's causing the difficulties. They're then trying to add another asset (like Ty Thomas) to get a much improved player than Hinrich.
