Wow...  that's a crazy stat.  No home playoff losses in 30+ years?  I know there haven't been a ton of home games, but it shows that when the Pats are supposed to win, they usually do.

Do these Ravens have any shot against the Colts?  I don't think so, but you never know, I guess.

not a Pats fan but they were just flat to start and it cost them 21 quick points

It was all for naught, but that was one heck of an effort by Edelman.

really the only thing you can take from this.

Would Richard Seymour have made any difference in this game?  Probably not, due to all the turnovers, but he certainly would have helped contain the running game.

Of course, Seymour couldn't fix the offense.  The Pats managed 7 points that weren't gifted to them.

Oh well still a decent season for a team obviously in transition.  Given how many aweful teams there are in this league.  winning the division and a first round playoff exit is a pretty darn good rebuilding year.  Much more than most teams can say.

Thankfully I missed the game (until the 4th quarter anyhow and it was very much over by then).

The guys on WEEI were blaming the offense and the guys on 98.5 were blaming the D.  From what I heard I'd have to give the brunt of the blame to the O, but the mere fact that you could make an argument for either side tells you all you need to know.

Yup

Well, season's over.

Now here's hoping the Pats can package their, what #23 pick in the first round, with their two picks in 2011's first round and can trade up and draft Ndamukong Suh. The they can resign free agent Richard Seymour, resign Wilfork and trade Warren. A front line of Seymour, Suh and Wilfork would certainly re-establish their defensive line.

Of course, hoping and dreaming and reality are very different things.

I dont think seymour is coming anywhere near NE again.  And in an uncapped year teams have two franchise tags.  I have to think one will be used on seymour by oakland.

Also, while Suh would be a dream, I dont want them to trade away picks just to get older.  And nobody on that D-line is going to produce much of a pass rush which was their achilies heel all season.

I'm a huge fan of Suh, but I can't imagine any team dealing three #1s for him.  What was the last NFL deal that involved a team trading three first rounders?

The Herschel Walker trade is the last one I can think of, for good reason.

Yeah, well, as I said, hope and reality are very often very different things.

I was thinking the Walker trade but could have sworn there was a #1 pick in the last 15-20 years that got traded for a bunch of first round picks. Gotta go do some research

I never pick against the Pats because they have come up big so many times.  But after last week's game, in which they gave up 3 TDs in the 4th quarter, I was afraid something like this might happen.

Frankly I think this team quit when Welker got hurt.  I don't know if they quit on Belichick or on themselves, but that's what happened.

I do believe however that come the Draft, St Louis will have traded away the #1 pick for extra picks. Just don't see a team that bad holding onto a #1 pick that isn't a QB.

The Manning/Rivers trade was pretty substantial in worth for a #1 pick.

For the right to Manning(#1 pick), San Diego got Rivers(#4 overall pick), the number 2 pick in the 3rd round, and first round and fifth round pick the following year.

2 top 12 high first round picks, a high third round pick and a fifth round pick might actually be more valuable for a #1 pick than 2 late first round picks and a high(possible top 10) first round pick
