I am going to start off by saying I really need to go to bed when I thought this up.   :)

Boston Trades Ray, TA, Scali, and JR

receives Gay, Hinrich, Thomas, and Salmons

Mem trade Gay and Randolph

     receives Ray and Scali

Chi trade Hinrich, Thomas and Salmosn

     receives TA, Randolph and JR

I have little respect to the front offices of the Bulls and Memphis.  But hey, the Bulls get that low post threat they needed.   ;)

Any trade that involves Ray is "over-sized" ... no way.

I thought reports were out that Memphis was extremely happy with Randolph and loved the results their young core was putting up. I don't see Memphis making any trades right now, though were are talking about Chris Wallace so I guess anything is possible.

Getting a Hinrich/Gay combo for Ray is definitely one of those trade returns you have to think about though.

You are right.  Memphis already has a core they are happy with.

Their core is fool's gold though.

Chris Wallace is a fool, so there you go.

Agree it's a no-go for Memphis.  Chris Wallace couldn't walk the streets of Memphis if he did that....

Plus, after more than two-years of intense ridicule from all over the place after the Gasols trade, I think he needs more time before the next abominable act of goodwill towards......towards...hopefully us..

If Memphis is not happy with its current core, then they'll never be happy and they oughta just find a dark hole to climb into...Although, I could see them upgrading at PG if they had a chance (though don't know much about Conley's ceiling)

I'm a bit fascinated by teams that have found themselves with 5 starters who are pure for their position (not combos), starting fives that, if good enough, should just be left alone in order to gel....Memphis starting 5 seems to be one of those.

But I guess finances and stupidity can always blow things apart...so we can hope.

Try another one to land Gay....

Memphis isn't exactly a hot spot for free agents, so they aren't going to trade two talented starters for Ray's cap space.  There is no way Ray signs an extension to stay there.  But then again, this is Chris Wallace so if we include a couple draft picks that he could turn into the next Kedrick Brown or Jerome Moiso, he just might bite!

Interesting.  I'm thinking you're thinking they'll never play defense...

True, in part.

I'm also thinking that they lack any truly exceptional players. You can't go anywhere when you just have a group of average to good offensive players.

Really slanted heavily in the Celtics favor.

Not to mention Randolph has been playing like an animal lately.
