If Giddens is smart, he'll start ball hawking his next time on the court.  If you scared to shoot, take it to the hole YOUNGN!...how many NBA players make careers off dunks/alley oops, and penetration<along with defense>  I can't feel sorry for this guy...clocks tickn/windows closing. YOour in the NBA...do you want it or not--lets go!<signed td jakes>

Like Tommy says, the kid has to shoot it ... he drains it all the time in practice and pre-gamne, and then refuses to let it go in a game ... he's gotta get beyond whatever makes him hesitate.

It's 100% a confidence thing with JR.  I'm a New Mexico Lobos fan, and this is not the same player that led the Mountain West Conference in scoring his senior year.  Contrary to what some are posting, HE DOES HAVE THE SKILLS.  He was never a phenominal shooter, but he was a very effective scorer in college.  He was all over the court making things happen, and WANTING the ball in college.  I thought he might be as good as another fellow Lobo, Danny Granger ... who's turned out to be quite an NBA player.

Part of the confidence thing I blame on Doc.  Instead of telling JR to get in the flow of the offense and look for his shot, he tells him to concentrate ONLY on defense and rebounding.  The C's are playing 4 on 5 on offense with JR in there, because, especially in the first half, they NEVER look for him at all.  He just stands out of the way.  That's got to be per Doc's instruction.  I mean, what's that gonna do for a guy's confidence?  When he finally does get the ball, of course he's gonna lack the aggression to quickly look for his shot.

If Doc doesn't think JR has what it takes to play on both ends, he just shouldn't put him in.  Frankly, I've given up on JR, and it's obvious to me he won't get over his lack of confidence ... not sure where it came from, but it just doesn't look like Doc is helping it.  It's too bad.

We just got rid of a player more skilled than Giddens whose main problem was a lack of confidence- Gabe Pruitt.  Giddens is a great athlete and a clueless basketball player.  His main skill is rebounding which is not the most important skill for a 6'5'' player.  He's not going to stick.
Hudson, however, looks he could be an effective scoring point guard off the bench.

Giddens gets a wide open look...pump fakes...attempts to drive...forces a horrible shot or a turnover.  That pretty much sums up his game tonight.

Why on Earth does he keep pump faking on wide open looks?  Get this bum off the court.  I'd rather see Scal start at the 3.

On a positive note, everyone not named J.R. is playing a solid game, thus far.  Also nice to see Hudson getting some minutes.

It's taken Scal 5 years to reduce his pump faking at the wrong time down to a still not tolerable level....a wee hard on the newbie?

i still don't see how this guy is getting written off so quickly.. wasn't he like 1 for 3???  you're really gonna tell me you're judging a guy's career off of a night where he went 1 for 3 in 20 mins?

also, to the person who started this post: i will maintain that I put the Dee Brown pic up without having seen you do it.. not saying you copied me, not saying I copied you, just putting it out there  ;D
