People underestimate KG's influence. They underestimated it after we traded for him but before he started playing, and they're underestimating it now.
The main reason we like bigs to play down low is the high shooting percentage one can expect from in close. Look at KG's shooting percentage. And for rebounding. Look at KG's rebounding numbers.
I like him down low for his passing/helping to run the offense from there, but I have zero problem with him taking jumpers when he's not there, however.
KG turned the Celtics into champions playing his way. Let him continue to play his way, especially if his career lasts longer due to less banging. You want a healthy KG? Be careful what you wish for....
Sheed is playing a lot against second-tier bigs, but is still a premier big himself. He's also playing low minutes. So it's Sheed who needs to get down low, bang around and score.
