Perk has been a really good centre for the celtics team. He changed from a foul abusing player that couldn't stay in the game to a mean tough player that stays in games late and one of the few in the league that can handle the likes of dwight howard on his own.

He is also an ultra efficient scorer and on certain occasions has been the go to guy to get you a bucket.

He is making around 4.5 million dollars right now and question is as he keeps progressing what will he demand from the celtics to stay?

Is he worth Rondo dollars at 11 million per season? If not will other teams overpay to get a guy like him on their team?

The celtics might be able to get away offering perk a 4 year 32-36 to 5 year 40-45 million contract and actually him giving us a hometown discount. But i wouldn't be suprised if other teams could throw min 11 dollars per year at him to get him to play for them.

You guys think he is worth 6, 8, 10 million dollars come free agency? Also joes resigning pierce and kg to an extension affect the ability to sign him?

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I think he is worth 45 million over 5 years, but he could get Rondo money.

I think that he will get 8-10 m$ps, well deserved.
I think we are in a good/great position to continue compete after big 3 retires, well have Perk, Rondo and Baby as solid 3 to go with, and a lot of money to deal with

When exactly is Perk up for his extension?

after this season, he has one year left so he'll be eligible for FA in the summer of 2011.

If Perk leaves the Celtics I will cry  :-[

8-10 million is reasonable, but if I was GM I'd match anything. I think Perk is a loyal dude, though, so he'll stay with us. He's also best friends with Rondo - and with Al Jefferson, but not even friendship could convince Perk to go to Minnesota  ;D.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

I think he deserves to get close to what Rondo gets. In any case, Danny won't let him leave, and I think Perk is someone who can be Celtic for life.

after we resign perk and already have rondo locked up, i'd love to see al jefferson comeback after his contract at minny. by 2013/2014 season i doubt kg will be still here or even in the nba.

I'd hate to see Perk hit even hit restricted FA. I hope an extension is in the works for this offseason.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

TP for your thoughts..that would be Awesome with a capital A (Dick Vitale) to have Big All back in Boston, along with Perk and Rondo.

And as for Perk's contract..I see no reason why he wouldn't be worth 8-9 mil a year. He is a top defensive center and is steadily improving on offense.

Just continue to work, big fella. Your payday is coming.

I think he is worth between $7-9 million per year (on average).  However, I think on the open market, he will get between $10-12 million...which is why if he will not take a home town discount THIS offseason, I think Danny will look hard at trading him before losing him for nothing.

I know Perk didn't have a great game last night, but did you guys see that fadeaway off the glass over Kaman from 15 ft? That was so sickkk

I would not be shocked to see Ainge try to lock him up before he hits FA.  (much like last time and what he did with Rondo)
