so based on the majority of the responses on here... are you guys saying that Nate Robinson who's contract is about to be bought out next week should not be a celtic, although he's a very good energy scorer, he wants to come play here, he'll be cheap to grabb and all we have to do is release lets say Giddens.... are you serious??? I'm talking about a great all around scorer, and you guys are responding with eddie can shoot 3's he broke the c's record "last year"...
ummm
My suggestion was not based off of one game because I lobbied for Allen Iverson also. Anyhow I believe DA is going to make this move unless he's foolish not to sign a very young gifted scorer that Doc will play because he trusts.
Mark my words, there is a 0 - count it - 0 percent chance that Danny Ainge acquires Nate Robinson. He is not needed here.
Sometimes people just drive me nuts. There is a reason people who run organizations stay away from making impulse moves. You don't abandon a guy who won a championship with you, has a great deal to do with the chemistry on the roster, broke the Celtics single-season 3P% record just last year, plays extremely hard on both ends, and consistently gives the club energy (whether he's hitting shots or not) off the bench, just to give a me-first, defensively-challenged, immature ball-hog a chance on a team that doesn't need to be improved. Sure, he wants to play here, but who the hell wouldn't want to play here? Remember when the corpse of Bryon Russell announced that he "wanted to come to Boston" recently? Last time I checked he's not on the roster, because in order to sign a contract you need permission from the employer.
The reason people keep pointing to Eddie's record is that it shows that he is, as Mark Jackson would say, a bona fide "knock down jump shooter." You see, when you're in the business of winning championships, you go with the known commodity in almost every instance. If it aint broke don't fix it. Now, Eddie's not shooting as well this year as he did last year so far, but that doesn't mean you just bail on him. I see people writing that Eddie's in a slump so give Nate a try. That's just not how you go about operating a team. Eddie's a proven winner for this team, so you stick with him unless for some reason his play is killing us, which it's not.
