Just wana take a moment to tip my hat to the oldest of the Big 3, Ray Allen.  I cant remember a time when he was injured for an extended period of time with the celtics (knock on wood).  He's been very great for us, and as an old shooting guard, I give him so much credit for all he's done and is still doing.  With other guys going down, it makes you realize that

Very true.

Allen is a smart, talented, and supremely dedicated player. A TP for doing something other than bashing him, Cbrew.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Gotta show some love for Ray, i hear a lot about trading him around here.  Likely wouldn't be a banner here if he never came.
But yea, KG is ago for tomorrow, says espn.com

I have bad feelings about that game

But I haven't been watching Orlando

The first 2 minutes will tell me all I need to know

Haven't figured out how we'll contain Rashard Lewis, if they move him to the 3. They could give us a lot of trouble with match up, Vince Carter on Ray if they choose to put him at the 2

You missed a great game in Cleveland to start the year, then.

Yep, Ray is in great shape and his hard work pays. Hopefully he will stay healthy for the rest of the season and the playoffs.

I think sometimes he plays too much because he wants to and Doc allows him to, but he is in such great shape for his age that he seems OK when playing 35+ minutes on a regular basis.

The first 2 minutes of the Cavs game to start the year were an absolute disaster.  We came out of the gate and got hit in the face.  Using your logic for the upcoming game, you probably gave up on that one, but it turned out to be a very good win.

No, I never give up on games. I gauge the talent and stage of development (from "lottery team" to "better than the Celtics") that teams are at in the first two minutes. I watched the Cavs game - I knew they weren't better than us by watching the first game in the preseason, and I knew that even though we were losing, we would rebound and win.

Vince Carter plays the 2 all season long, why do you think he won't now  :o

Well, he's certainly big enough to play the 3, and we usually have Pierce guard him even when Ray is on the floor as well.

Ray is my favorite Celtic, and one of my favorite players of all-time. I hope he goes off for 30 on Orlando. ;D

Of the Big Three, he's probably in the best shape despite being the oldest: Pierce can have iffy weight and KG is probably too skinny for his size.  It's amazing that the guy can be going all out for an entire quarter and not break a sweat.  It's for that reason that I think he can be productive for a few more years and should be brought back.

You also can't quantify with stats what his long range shooting does for this team.  Not only does it spread the floor, it also allows him to score big points even playing on the weakside.  That ability lets Doc run pick and roles for PP/KG or other combos without disengaging Ray from the game, which does wonders for chemistry.
