I am so sick of how far degraded the standard has become for charges.  Getting set, before your man leaves the floor and not moving, is so hard, it should only happen a fraction of the time.  The refs are handing out charges like candy in general these days, and especially this game.  Watch the replays, is the defender set, BEFORE the offensive player leaves the ground?  If not, it cannot be a charge, charges should only happen less than 10% of the time on drives because of how difficult physically it is to accomplish this.  Unfortunately, it has become the sexy call of the league.

That was never the rule or the standard. If it was, games would be lay-up drills. The defensive player can move at will, he can't move into the space of the offensive player, that's all. A guy can perfectly get a charge while moving his feet.

Wrong.  I never said anything about moving one's feet.  I am specifically talking about when a player is driving and a defender moves underneath him as he is going up.  The rule is that position must be established before the offensive player leaves his feet, it cannot happen after that.  If the burden is not for the defense to have position in order for it to be a charge, what is it?

Well, you said "not moving", unless I'm reading "not moving" wrong. That's incorrect. They can be moving.

Yeah, they need to have the position before the offensive player leaves the floor and generally that's what happens.

Vince is doing it all ... and he's a killer. But if he's the only one producing offense, not too much to worry about.

carter WILL disappear and start chucking if you get physical with him, especially when he drives. foul him hard when he gets in the paint.

Scal again can't stay close to Carter which causes help to come and leaves Lewis open.

Magic are only down 11 hard to believe when shooting under 30%.  Two more terrible turnovers and the C's don't even get a shot.  Where is the [dang] offense geez.  Magic already in the penalty also just great.

problem with that is Scal is guarding him, and Carter just blows by him.

Why is the offense not flowing through Rondo anymore!   He is the ONLY one stepping up today and at least being aggressive.

Ray, KG are still doing absolutely nothing on offense very disappointing.

An aside, what's up with Rondo's shoes? White in the first half, red now?

Celtics wear black kicks!  ;)

Our defense is starting to collapse, wake up guys! And get back to the passing game on O.

Rondo must make his freebies or the Magic could really get back in this one.
