Also, for the record:  I'm not worried.  Disappointed at times, but not worried.

Are you worried at all about the injuries?  Because IMO, that is the only reason to be worried.

Not yet.  If KG is having knee issues heading into the playoffs, I'll be worried, but right now I'll just accept the reasoning that they're being abundantly cautious.
This is Morgan Freeman and i approve this message.

Know what? I'll take my belief in my Celtics to another level:

God forbid KG is not well come playoff time, I just don't see Sheed letting us down. This guy has already admitted that he gets up for playoffs, and it appears to me that sometimes this season he has seemed dis-interested.

Imagine Sheed last year in the playoffs on our roster - against ORL. We would have won. And we would have defeated CLE and LA.

While I agree with this to a point, I think Sheed physically does not have the quickness on the perimeter anymore to be able to give us what we would need from him as a starting PF.

At this point in his career, he is a Center...a [dang] good one when he is motivated, but a true Center.  If you have him out there starting next to Perk, we would have a REAL hard time matching up with guys like Lewis and Josh Smith, and Cleveland could play Lebron at the PF spot, and really mess with us.

I am a big Sheed fan, and I think he will be huge for us in the playoffs, but I just do not think he is a suitable replacement for KG, since he cannot replace his athleticism, and versatility to be able to play equally well on the perimeter or in the post.  So if KG is out, I think they would really have to address that hole from outside the organization.

That's optimism that I can get behind!  (However, I tend to disagree, as I think KG is vital to our success.  Still, I enjoy the focus on the positive.)

I'm not going to make predictions or statements, much less bold predictions or statements, about our injuries anymore.  When I did that last year, I had the lingering taste of Dr. Shoals in my mouth for months.   :-X

This is true. Sheed would have a hard time against Rashard, no doubt.

I don't mind making bold statements, myself. I survived (Barely) the Lean Years...every time my peers saw me coming while I was at work in the 90's and early 2000's they'd crack and joke on the Celtics mercilessly.

I haven't heard those same jokes since the summer of 2007.

I'm enjoying this ride for next couple of years myself.

Anyone watching this team and thinking it is championship caliber, even with Garnett, is wearing the greenest shade of glasses. There is little or no effort right now. I just don't but this they will turn it on when they feel like it story. I am very worried and feel that Ainge needs to make some moves to strengthen a weak, weak bench.

And yet, as flawed as this team is, they're three games back from having the best record in the NBA.

Why do fans only focus on our flaws, and not those of the Cavs, Magic, and Lakers?

Because, not only do the people here watch the Celts way more than they watch any of the other contenders, but they read this blog before they watch the games so they're already looking for these things.

Tangent, but it's similar to some of the Rondo criticisms. I'd keep reading about how bad he was at keeping his man in front of him. I'd ask (many times in various threads) which point guards are better at it. I never had a single person name a single player. But I'd frequently hear that it doesn't matter how he compares to other point guards, he's still bad at it.

Pretty simple -- there is no chance in Hell the Celtics win the title without a healthy Garnett, Sheed or no Sheed.
