They are now down to a big man rotation of:

                       Career Averages
Alrdidge                   15.5PPG, 7RPG
Juwan Howard               OLD MAN
Dante Cunningham           2.7PPG, 2RPG
Anthony Toliver            2.5PPG, 2RPG

They are still 18-12 and could make the playoffs if they could get some big man help. The C's could possibly offer them BBD or Sheldon

Bos Sends:
BBD ,TA , Giddens, future 1st

Por Sends: Blake, Outlaw or Frenandez

         OR

Bos Sends: Sheldon William, Scal, Giddens or Hudson

Por Sends: Blake, Juwan Howard

This trade would have to take place in about a month when Outlaw and Fernandez are supposed to return from injuries.

i like the 1st trade without the 1st round pick.

I don't think the second trade will help us.

blake is a solid back up PG. people feel that we need to get a back up for rondo. but once we get into the playoffs, rondo will be playing a lot of minutes which is fine because he is young. when he is not in, i am very comfortable with having Quis play the point and Eddie at SG.

it would be nice to have Rudy or Outlaw though

I think Portland will try to get to work with Washington and Cleveland in a deal that goes like this:

Portland gets: Zydrunas Ilgauskas, Nick Young and JJ Hickson

Cleveland gets Antawn Jamison

Washington gets Travis Outlaw, Steve Blake, Martell Webster, Cleveland's 2011 1st round pick, no protection and Portland's 2010 1st round, no protection

I'd say right now, we don't want to mess with what we've got. However if we can get a player to help us with the athletic teams that give us trouble we have to.

Any deal in which we could get Fernandez and or Outlaw is a deal we have think long and hard about (if we are only giving up expirings and/or Baby).

If we are giving up Baby at a reasonable rate who will come in an compete for a starting role with them I think they should throw a first our way not the other way around.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

That sounds like a really good deal for everyone, that seems pretty likely.

I'd say at the moment don't mess with what we've got, too.. look at last night, we didn't have KG and Scal was playing extended minutes.  and then 'Sheed hurt his shoulder and I thought 'god what would happen if he missed time as well?'

You need to keep in mind that they have no healthy wings, either. So you're taking away all their threes. They need to find a deal that includes one of their PGs (probably Blake) and one of their injured wings (likely Outlaw, not Batum or Fernandez) for ether a big or a wing. If they could do both, they'd have to seriously consider it.

I posted a deal that had them getting both Baby and Nocioni. I'd hold out for Bayless and Outlaw if we were going to give up Glen. Blake play has been pretty bad, not sure he'd really bring much to the table.

In this trade they are losing a wing that is injured until maybe March and Webster and getting in return Nick Young, a young promising wing and Hickson, a young promising PF and a true center. They get to keep Batum and Fernandez and still have the option of moving Andre Miller for another wing and a backup PG if they are inclined enough to put Bayless into the starting rotation.

Outlaw is likely the first back (of he, Batum and Fernandez). Young plays Roy and Fernandez's position, and his basketball IQ is highly questionable. They really have no use for him in Portland.

It's an upgrade for them at PF and a downgrade for them at SF. They actually wouldn't even have a healthy SF. They can't trade a SF without getting one back, essentially.

sorry, but cleveland doesnt seem likely to trade Z without getting a good center back.

after Z their center is shaq. right now shaq averages 23 minutes a night and i doubt is not going to be able to average many more minutes for the rest of the season.

after shaq cleveland would have varejao or hickson as back up centers...neither of them are able to play center very well.

The guard the Blazers will move (if necessary) is Andre Miller, not Blake.

BBD would not at all be a replacement for Pryzbilla b/c he has no length and can't rebound.  His game is nothing like Pryzbillas.

Sheldon has the same problem, but he'd at least get some rebounds.  I don't see why Portland would do this.

I think Davis would be who Portland would want and I can understand why but they are in deep s**t no matter what.  I would give up Davis plus Hudson for Bayless and Batum.

That deal helps them with their shortage at big and their excess at PG although does nothing to help with their problem at the wing.  With PP and Daniels hurting, we are in no position to be giving up a healthy wing.

We lose some depth in our bigs in this deal but we have that luxury.  Batum is scheduled to come back soon from a shoulder problem which doesn't scare me as much as something wrong with his legs or back.  He seems like a nice fit as a defensive minded wing and Bayless is an upgrade over Hudson and might actual have a role with us as back-up PG.  It is asking a lot from Portland but I think they consider it.  Even when/if Oden and Pryz come back, Davis can still have an important role for them.

(PS:  I know base year rules probably don't allow this to work but if not something close to this then I don't do a deal with Portland)
