I had to resist the urge to use a "Leon Powe back to Boston!" thread title, but I'd have to ban myself for doing so.

Quote
A Leon Powe update: “It is just a step in the process, but Leon Powe got good news from his doctor this week, and he’s just cleared another hurdle in returning from his knee injury.  Instead of traveling with the Cavaliers to Philadelphia on Wednesday, Powe instead went to Boston to see Dr. Brian McKeon, who performed the anterior cruciate ligament repair and microfracture surgery on Powe’s left knee last May. After looking at his latest MRI and giving him an examination, Powe said McKeon has cleared him to begin doing full-court running and drills.” [Brian Windhorst]

Good for Leon.  I hope he returns to the NBA and becomes the player (and gets the contract) he deserves.  It just sucks it is for the Cavs (thankfully, not the Lakers, though).
Celtics fan for life.

Good news for Leon. I wish he can come back healthy soon but without rushing it. I know I will hate seeing him play for the Cavs and against us but I will be rooting for him at the same time. :-X

Thanks for thread. Really happy for Leon, and I wish him the best. If he plays for the Cavs like he played for us, he'll get his big payday.

I'm glad the Celtics allowed him to shine by drafting him when no one else would.

Again I wish him the best...just not against the Celtics ;D

Unfortunately for Leon, I have a feeling he won't be doing much against us this year.  Even if he returns this season, it will likely take him a little while to gain his athleticism (and with that, his effectiveness) back.

On the brightside, he is set up to come back healthy next year, on a Lebron-less team that could showcase him as a major player, giving him a chance for the big payday.

I'd like Leon to get one good contract so his family would never have to worry again. :)
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Yes I think next year will be a better view of how far back he is if he can come back at all
as everyone agrees though, wish him the best, great guy who deserves to make the $$ that a lot of jerks make in the nba

side note: think how much sheldon williams has added to our team so far and leon is still in street clothes

Well, given Powe's life experience, my guess is that he has done a very good job of dealing with the money he has already made, and his family is already in a position where they don't have to worry again.  But I agree, that if there ever was a pro athlete that I would like to see get paid, it is Powe.

Thanks for the notice, Jeff.

Great news indeed, though it still saddens me that he will not be playing for us. I was on board with the Powe Show and miss him dearly. I truly hope he fairs well, though I really can't stand that he's now a Cav.

Feels wrong. Totally and utterly wrong.

DANNY SCREWED UP. BIG.

Give 18 million to Rasheed Wallace in the next three years or wait for Leon?
Umm...

C'mon, Rasheed >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Leon.  Especially an "injured and can't play" Leon.  Sorry, but I'm glad Danny didn't resign him.

Ugh. I knew someone was gonna say something along these lines. Let's see how he looks before we say in capital letters that Danny screwed up big.

Unfortunately, he has no chance of getting that contract next year since the Cavs hold a team option.
