DANNY SCREWED UP. BIG.

Give 18 million to Rasheed Wallace in the next three years or wait for Leon?
Umm...

Shelden Williams is better than Leon for me.  Especially on the defensive side of the ball and his rotation there.

Sheed will be a leader in the playoffs, his veteran experience is a big plus over Leon.
Practice? Whatchu talkin about practice?

good news for Leon.  will always root for him to do well no matter where he ends up.  very classy act.

still a good business decision by Danny.  Sheed and Williams have been invaluable and there's still no definitive idea what Leon's going to contribute to the Cavs this year.

Leon is definitely better than Sheldon.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

Thanks for thread. Really happy for Leon, and I wish him the best. If he plays for the Cavs like he played for us, he'll get his big payday.

I'm glad the Celtics allowed him to shine by drafting him when no one else would.

Again I wish him the best...just not against the Celtics ;D

In complete agreement.  Powe is good for the NBA and a good example for other players.

A healthy Leon is better than Shelden.  That much I think is pretty hard to argue against (at least IMO).  However, given the fact that at best, you would be getting maybe 1/3 of a season of Leon (and that is hugely optimistic), it is a no brainer for a championship contender to get the guy who is healthy.

It's still going to be 4 months before he's even close to being back in game action.  Please.

C'mon, Rasheed >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Leon.  Especially an "injured and can't play" Leon.  Sorry, but I'm glad Danny didn't resign him.

Ah the knuckleheads may hate on Sheed now.  But at some point during the season.  Pay attention to how he outlets the ball.
How the ball is always over his head and how he sees the court.  Sheed was a great move.

Leon could have been signed and offered a contract.  It wasn't:  choose Sheed or Leon.    Frankly,  The 3 mil plus a year that we play Brian Scalabrine (what a horrible contract)
hurts us a great deal more.

Leon could have waited and then signed a decent deal mid-year.

Its hard to pay an injured player.  Especially one who continues to get injured.  If Leon had failed to come back. The same trash would have been heaped upon Ainge for making a risky move in tying up money on a player who couldn't even play hopscotch at the time.

Fact of the matter is:  I would have signed Leon to an incentive ridden contract based upon games played. Or given him an option on 2nd /3rd year if healthy.

Let's just wish him luck and a healthy return.
He's a class act.

I love Leon!  I feel its great to compare a healthy (or injured and how he'd help the c's) leon powe to sheldon williams or glen davis.
There is NO way to compare any of those guys to Rasheed Wallace.  I don't like his attitude with the refs etc.  But the guy is far far above any big we have except KG.  Great low post scorer, best on team, can hit the 3.  Good defender (not as good as perk or kg), good passer better than perk but not kg and a very knowledgable player.
Feels weird to defend him since I hated him as a piston but he is an amazing pick up for the team.  We loose kg or perk (god forbid) I am very happy to have him starting in either of their places.  I can't say that about any other bench player (even marquis)
