I think it would be great to bing chevy chase back with his success now on a sitcom. It would be perfect for around xmas to have him knock over a tree again.

Chevy Chase has received a lifetime ban from SNL.  Dude is in the running for biggest jerk in the universe.

  • Yup
I went with Jeopardy.  The Sean Connery stuff is priceless.

Same with Norm as Burt Reynolds.

How about the Johnny Carson show "bloopers" bit with Dom Deluise and Burt Reynolds where Burt starts laughing so hard he pees himself.
Yup

That's my favorite. You can find other classic sketches over there.

Weekend Update
Celebrity Jeopardy
Presidential Impressions
TV Funhouse
Matt Foley
Cheerleaders Not on the Squad
Boston Fans
Brian Fellows Safari Planet
Astronaut Jones
Lonely Island Digital Shorts

This one right here. Great list Matt! TP for like minds.

Schweddy balls skit was classic.

Jeopardy skits and weekend update are always favorites.

I saw one fake commercial in the late 90s that almost made me pee my pants when it aired and I never saw it again. It was called the Mercury Mistress. I guess the censors thought it was too racy or something, which is strange considering they let another hilarious classic air (the gay super heros cartoon).
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

I actually think the recurring characters are often some of the worse sketches on SNL.  It's the one-shot stuff that I think delivers the most.

that said, two underrating recurring skits on there both featured Chris Rock:  Nat X and I'm Chillin'.  Chris Farley was out of control on I'm Chillin'.

Here are some other gems:

Lothar of the Hill People
The Continental (Some of Christopher Walken's finest work)
Bennett Brauer
Leon Phelps
