TP MBz. I love Baby's emotion. It's the same with KG. Heart and fire. Very important to have those elements mixed into the team from a few players.

Alos agree re Baby being like an immovable object. He and Perk are are two muscle guys. When Perk gets in foul trouble against the likes of Shaq or Howard, Baby will come in very handy to push and shove with them.

Playoffs are all about the big boys banging down low.

WE will be looking very, very good heading into the playoffs if all our bigs are healthy:

Perkins / Rasheed / Shelden
Garnett / Baby / Shelden

Very diverse and tough set of bigs.

I think the playoffs will consist of needing a player who can guard the Rashard Lewis' and others, which is why I'd like to trade BBD/Scally/ for someone who matches up better than Scalabrine.  Also, I would change around your depth chart to reflect:

C: Perkins / Rasheed / Davis / possibly Shelden as 4th
PF:  Garnett / Rasheed / possibly Davis as 3rd

I just only see Davis' value as a center.  I wouldn't mind if Rasheed came in for Garnett and Davis for Perkins, but if only Perkins is coming out then Rasheed has to be the first off the bench.

I know you hate to hear it, but Scal covers Lewis as well as anyone in the league.  I doubt they are going to find anyone who matches up better.

This is not a question about whether Davis is better than Scal or Williams, it is a question about who we get back if we do trade him.  Davis on this team is big man insurance.  KG, Sheed, and Perk are going to play most of the big man minutes.  Williams and Scal can pick up the few remaining minutes just fine.  It is nice to have Davis to be available when one of the 3 main bigs is hurt (as right now) but there are other needs on the team that are more important than the luxury of an extra big.

If we could get a solid PG or wing, that may be a better use of this slot than the extra Big.  If you could trade Scal or Williams, keep Davis, and get something back, that would be great but I don't see how it could go that way.  Trading Davis could get us something back of comparable value.  I am not saying we need to or should trade him but I sure would if the right deal came along.

Actually I'm one of the few supporters of Scalabrine and his defense, but this year I'm having a more difficult time supporting that stance.  Scally has done a good job of defending him in the past, but I fear he'll be outmatched... not to mention Scalabrine offers little on the offensive end.  I hope that changes, but it doesn't seem to be the trend.  Davis can't guard Rashard at all, and I don't have a lot of faith in Rasheed's ability to defend the 3pt line.

Davis is a nice insurance on the bench for if our bigs get hurt, but the Celtics bench has more pressing needs.  For this reason I'd consider trading Davis if the right piece came along.  I should think that there's several teams out there who want a young player who can serviceably produce without being a big financial burden.

Sheldon+Scal<Glen.

Glad Ainge is the GM.

This is like saying Poop+rabies<eggo waffles.     Sure, eggo waffles are ok and certainly better than poop and rabies... but it's not like I'm tied down to eggo waffles.  If someone offers me a bacon egg cheese bisquit, some eggs benedict or a hot dog... I'm going to consider it.   I like eggo waffles... if I'm starving I'll probably pop a couple in to the toaster...  but it's not like I wouldn't survive without them in my diet.

Well, I respectfully disagree.  Scal has a lot of negatives, but the one thing he can do, is defend perimeter PF's.  His defense on Lewis was one of the biggest reasons the C's nearly upset the Magic last year, and he did a very good job against him in limited action this season.

I agree.  Scal doesn't help on the glass, but he knows his role offensively and defends quite well.

Glen Davis is a mental abomination. His teary-eyed antics could cost us a game 7, get him the heck away from a team of this quality. The Pistons don't matter anymore, he can go.

His teary-eyed antics?  Really now?  He's an emotional guy, but so is KG.  Are we going to trade KG because he's too emotional?  He's also put up good games against other teams then the Pistons.  The Pistons were just his coming out party.
Scal is on the Celtics team for LUCK! The luck of the Irish. I like him; don't see any point in trading him. He can defend and occasionally hit some good 3 pointers. I don't see the big deal and why so many are against him. He is a good contributer and is superior to some of the new, young players we just acquired.
Baby Davis is necessary to us winning in the playoffs and championship. He is versatile, strong and keeps getting better every day. It would simply be idiotic to trade him. Yes, he's an emotional player and that's what most people like about him. He's young and inexperienced in life, had a very tough childhood and yet, has proven to be mature enough to accept critisism and take guidance from the more experienced players like Garnett and to have the character needed to be a strong team player. He has no guile.
I don't believe he cried after Garnett yelled at him, as so many have tried to make fun of. It drives me crazy to see supposedly mature people make fun of players without even knowing what was really happening. I have seen him with that same expression many times during games when frustrated; his expression looks like he is crying, but he's not. Even if he was, for a moment, shedding a few tears of frustration, what is wrong with that? Who are these childish bullies who laugh when someone is upset or frustrated? They are the same bullies of our childhood, only THEY never grew up. I am just sick of hearing the pettiness.

I respectfully disagree on one key portion of what you wrote.  Glen Davis is NOT necessary for this team to win in the playoffs and a championship.  Garnett, Pierce, and Rondo are necessary.  If Garnett is hurt again and this team is forced to play Glen all the time, then they'd have the same results as last year.

I'm not forgetting him.  With Garnett out Rasheed has been starting and Davis subs for both Perkins and Rasheed.  As a result he's had a major increase in minutes.  This team is not designed to have Davis play 30 minutes a game in the playoffs.  Hence, Garnett is necessary.  If Rasheed got hurt it'd stink, but he's not quite "necessary" for a championship since he is a bench player.

No it's not.  Glen is a good player (not like poop), but Shelden and Scal are poop.

I know... Glen is an eggo waffle... lots and lots of eggo waffles.  With tons of butter, maple syrup and whipped cream.  Guy is hella fat.
