This guy sucks. Seems like he hates the celtics. I'm sick of him and hope he never refs a Celtics game again.
“Being a Celtic is, every decision you make is about the team. Every cut you make is about the team. Every pass you make is about the team. You take yourself out of it. It’s not for everyone. If you don’t want to win, don’t want to play team basketball, and it’s more about you then you’re probably not a Celtic." Doc 2010

Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Also:

The refs and 21 turnovers were the culprits in the Phoenix Suns' 105-99 road loss to the Denver Nuggets, a night after they'd stunned the second-best team in the Eastern Conference, the Orlando Magic,106-103 at US Airways Center.
Aside from the outcomes, the games were almost identical. The Suns ran up big leads (19 points in the first game, 17 in the second) that extended into the second half, only to get caught by their opponents. With two minutes to go either night, either team could've won.

Except for one factor in Saturday night's game in snowy Denver -- the officials: Bill Spooner, Bill Kennedy, and Eli Roe. Only Denver could win with them on the floor.

Can't blame the refs, NOT! Kennedy has a personal vendetta against the Celtics. He does just enough to kill our momentum. My personal favorite foul on a box out. Give me a break. NBA is really shady when it comes to its PRECIOUS referees.

Well, since this particular ref is so bad, why hasn't the league did something about it?

Anyone who says that the officials can't affect the game or don't have an agenda, (or favorite players/teams), is just not in touch with reality. That said, when the Celtics play their best, they can beat anyone, in spite of everything the refs do to prevent it. This one is on the C's ... the coaches and the players, bar none.

I don;t know, why haven't they done anything about the 11 other officials they admitted committed terms of service violations in thier investigation of timmy D?

Stern has no interest in fixing the 5-8 officials who ruin the leagues perception. If he tried to do something about joey, that hack barretta, palmer and this moron, he'd have to admit his stance that the NBA has the best officials in the world is a joke.

There's plenty of good officials in the NBA, but the 4-8 who think the game is about them ruin the other officials image, and the league doesn't care to acknowledge the problem. Instead it babys them, and won't allow the media access to them.

I'm concerned that Sheed got his 10th technical last night but I'm still enjoying his reaction... assuming he doesn't get further suspended of course.

Why is it that we are always talking about NBA refs as the worse?  The other leagues might have a problem too, but we undestand.  However, there are always something shady with the NBA refs and they are the most protected group out there.  This is coming from the fans, this is coming from the coaches/players who are constantly getting fined, this is coming from everybody except Mr. Stern.

Because only in the NBA do certain refs think they are PART of the game, and not just the officals.

My general rule is if i know your name, as an offical, your not doing your job.

I know MABEY one MLB umpire. I know two NFL refs.

I know a whole slew of NBA officials names, and it's because they are CONSISTENTLY awful, yet the league does nothing but coddel them.

As the Victorian writer Walter Bagehot once said:

"We must not bring the Queen into the combat of politics, or she will cease to be reverenced by all combatants; she will become one combatant among many."

When refs become non-neutral participants in the fray, they lose all legitimacy.  The NBA refs are the weak link in the NBA enterprise.  Stern has his head in the sand (his checkbook).

Anything run by that moron and longtime league hack, Stu Jackson, will suck almost necessarily.

I think it's not so much this as that Stern would have to deal with a revolt among the other refs.  If there's one thing that's indisputable about the referees it's that they tend to stick together and become very defensive when one of their own is attacked.  Remember a few years ago when the league suspended Michael Henderson for making an obvious bad call that gave the Lakers (surprise!) a win, and everyone else wore their uniforms inside-out with Henderson's # drawn-on in protest?  It'd be that times 10 if they went after established guys like Bavetta and Crawford.

If that's what it takes, then Stern needs to get some cajones and do it.  Seriously, are refs really that much of a commodity?  I honestly didn't see much of a difference with the back up refs during the preseason.  Sure, the game slowed down a lot more, but I wasn't as angry at the refs as I have been since I started watching the NBA.  I am watching a little UMass action right now and the game is called so much more different.  They actually let the guys play.  These refs are a joke and it's the biggest turn off of the game.  The refs and the NBA are like a hot chick with a weird mole on her head.  It doesn't take away her hotness, but the mole is always there and it's always gonna effect how you look at her.  All you need is a surgery to remove it, but she refuses to do it because it might her a little bit, even though in the long run it's for the greater good.
