There are rumors that Wade could force his way out of Miami before the trade deadline. Greedy as I am, I´ve checked the trade machine if there´s a possible scenario in which we could trade for him.

This is basically our scrub package + Rondo and a #1 for Dwyane Wade.

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=yloj2xf

Boston

Outgoing:
Rondo
Daniels
House
Giddens
Scalabrine
T. Allen
2010 #1

Incoming:
Wade

Miami

Outgoing:
D. Wade

Incoming:
Rondo
Daniels
Dalembert
Boston 2010 #1

Philadelphia

Outgoing:
Dalembert

Incoming:
House
Giddens
Scalabrine
T. Allen

What do you think? Is this a reasonable trade idea?
Not that I want to see Rondo traded at this point, but if you can get Wade?
You have to at least consider the possibility, in my opinion.

Can you think of better ways to get him, maybe without giving up Rondo?
Are there teams who are in a better position to make a run for Wade?

Keep in mind, the team that trades for Wade must have enough star power for him to sign a contract extension, which leaves only a handful of teams in the league as a potential destination.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

It would mean a ton of minutes for Lester Hudson, and a bunch of roster spots to fill.  Not a realistic deal.

Works in the machine though.

Yup

We get a trade exception, and there are still some FA´s we could sign, like Sweetney, for example.

We`d basically give up three rotation players for one, but it´s not impossible to fill the holes on the cheap, imo.

Good Discussion. I had thought about this during a previous thread. That particular thread a few weeks ago discussed trading Ray Allen for D Wade. Back then, I briefly considered it, but even now I wonder if either the Ray Allen trade for Wade or the one in this thread happened, could Wade fit in and be effective enough for Boston to continue the championship run?

My thing I just have my doubts about it, Boston has a very intricate offense and I wonder if it (trade in this particular thread or previous Ray Allen thread) could work with Wade, IMO.

My take: I couldn't do it. The engine is running smooth now. Dwayne Wade is one of my favorite players and he would certainly extend our window, but.....

I respect Wade as a player, but I have no interest in a deal that would be of any interest to Riley, namely Rondo.

I think Miami would want a top 10 player in any deal for Wade.  Wow, that would be interesting though.  I think Wade would be a lot more likely to fit in than your average 30pt scorer.

The only one that might work (if the rest of the league decides they don't want Wade and Miami loses it's mind and trades him instead of the other guys to put someone around him now that would make him happy)

Ray, JR, and three firsts (this seasons, 2012, 2014)

For

Wade and Jones.

would love wade on team, backcourt of rondo & wade  :o
we'd be set for years

If that deal was on the table, I'd do it in a heartbeat.  Miami would laugh at the offer though.

Regarding the OP's proposal, from a talent perspective I understand it but it decimates the depth of the team.  The only outgoing player that doesn't figure to see time this year, outside of garbage time, is Giddens.  It's true there are FA's still out there that could be signed to fill the roster spots but there's a reason they're still FA's---they're not good enough to help anyone or else they'd be signed.  I would not want to fill out the roster with those players especially when you've shipped out everyone that backs up Ray and PP except Walker (and he's not going to back up Ray).

As much as I'd like to see them get Wade, that's too steep a price for this year.

I´m not sure that´s true.
In that case, the three firsts are probably very low picks, since our team could be great for many years.
Miami would definitly have more interest in Rondo (plus Dalembert, or comparable talent) than in Ray to pair with Beasley.

-----------------

The thing is, there are just not many possible destinations for Wade.
Lakers, Celtics, Cavs...who else?

I´d rather see us trade Rondo for Wade than to see the Lakers trade Bynum + Odom for him.

They would not want Dalembert.  He blows their cap space and the chance to sign someone.

With the other trade, they could still go out and sign both Lebron and Bosh.

But like I said, completely unlikely.

If I'm Miami, I'm insulted because I'm thinking you think I'm stupid enough to do this deal. Trade Wade for a PG or SG that can't shoot. Ha.

And again, this is if I'm Miami, not if I'm a Celtic fan who actually sees the Celtics play.

I think we have a much better chance of getting Battier.

Of course, this wasn`t a realistic idea, but it`s an idea I haven`t seen before.
Miami won´t have any interest in Ray, and again, there are not many possible destinations. The trade idea was more of a starting point for the discussion.

I simply don´t want to see him on the Lakers.

If you have a better idea, let me hear it.

EDIT: Oh, and if you´re a real Celtic fan, how come you call Rondo "a PG who can´t shoot"? You should know that the things he can do can be quite amazing.

I don't trust his health, or shelf life. A few years back they talked about him about being washed uP, comParing him to a running back that ran teh ball every Play.  Wouldn't give rondo for him either
