Ainge has a great eye for talent and he hits a lot more than he misses, but there have been some pretty good misses along the way too.  Marcus Banks and Gerald Green come to mind.  Who else goes on this list?

Kedrick Brown along with Banks + Green tops my list.

Mark Blount to a degree. A free agent bust.

If we are talking simply Celtics. I think most of the draft busts have been mentioned. Non-draft bust of the decade for me would be Vin Baker.

I kinda think Gabe Pruitt was a bust. A lot of people thought he'd be a first rounder. One might have thought he'd be serviceable as a backup but no

i dont really consider Starbury a bust.  He was a late season flyer which we all agreed was a gamble at the time.

Hands down it is Kedrick Brown for 3 big reasons.

1. He was the 11th pick in a loaded draft.  Picked before: Tony Parker, Gilbert Arenas, Troy Murphy, Richard Jefferson, Zach Randolph, Gerald Wallace, Jamal Tinsley, Samuel Dalembert, Okur, Brendan Haywood,  even Vlad Radmanovic and Scal are better

2. We could have saved that pick which was Denvers until 2003...aka Carmelo

3. Phoenix wanted Kedrick instead of Joey Johnson, we chose to keep Kedrick.

Gerald on the other hand was a gamble on a HS stud at 18 and Moiso was 10th but in the worst draft ever.

Gerald and Vin Baker both come to mind.  Vin Baker not a "bust" but an infuriating failure.

I'm just glad that Greg Oden wasn't a bust that happened to us. Sadly, I think this poor guy really is a 00's Sam Bowie when you look at what Durant is doing already.

I'll say this a bit hesitantly because I liked the guy so much...Ron Mercer.  He did average about 16ppg for the 2 yrs he was with the Cs...and scored close to 20ppg in 00-01 with the Bulls, but the last 4 years of his career were AWFUL.  He was much more talented thn his career stats suggest.  The craziest thing about him is that he is still only 33 years old.  Lets sign him up! (kidding, of course)

Oops, my mistake if this was supposed to be just an Ainge thread.

Could you imagine DWade and Pierce playing together?
