We're 17 games into the season, so I think it's fair to ask the question. Ray has been shooting around 30% on 3 pointers so far this season, which is really bad for him. He hasn't shot that badly on 3's in quite a long time.
He wasn't exactly shooting well during the playoffs in June (besides a couple blow-up games against the Bulls) but that could have been attributed to tired legs over a long season.
What's the excuse now?
Dear OP,
There is no "excuse". You see, when you are a "shooter", as Ray Ray no doubt doubt is, you go through ups and downs.
Currently, Ray Ray is in a bit of a funk/down. The only way to get out of a funk is to either:
1. "change things up" - which he's doing rather well if you ask me. Ray's taking the ball to the rim and pulling up for the mid-range shot which he's hitting.
2. "shoot your way out" - this is the Eddie House philosophy which I'm happy to see Ray isn't taking. Rather than forcing up more bad looks he's decided to go with option 1.
Additionally, between Pierce and Sheed there are still plenty of 3's being taken.
