  • Let's Go Celtics!
Anyone else catch the split screen on the Wade and Pierce posters?

Wade gets the and one then goes out of his way to tun around and step over the player and doesn't get a taunting technical.

Pierce doesn't get the and one and pauses for a second while looking at Bosh and gets a taunting technical.

Was there any difference whatsoever in the two dunks? I didn't see any. But the star treatment Wade got while the almost rookie treatment Pierce got is a clear example of just how lousy overall the officiating in the NBA is.
Agreed. The obvious bias when handing out techs is getting really old. Make the calls evenly or don't make them.

I actually saw that game, and Wade actually did get a taunting tech a few mins later cuz he and AV kept going at it (AV got a tech too, though).

Don't fall asleep guys. It's only a 6 point game

Actually I mean the old Celtics of 2007-2008 ... I would never presume to compare them with the '86 team. ;)
There is no official statistics on charges taken, but I'm willing to bet a Tommy point or two that the 2007-08 Celtics were one of the top teams in the league in this category, and the 2009-2010 Celtics are close to the bottom.

Those two teams, regretfully, don't look alike at all. That is all.

I meant they are looking more like that team than they have lately ... it's improving and they're playing with more energy ... I didn't mean to insinuate that they are exactly the same, or even close to that point, just moving more in that direction.

Celtics with a dominating last 3 minutes.
Unfortunately 'domination' just got put back unto the pine due to a not-too-fortunate offensive foul...

Hadn't thought of that -- but I think you are correct.  Posey took a lot of charges, and Powe became very good at it as well.  Seemed to be contagious 2 years ago.  Baby will take a few -- I look forward to him bringing some energy.

Looking much more like the old Celtics, but like K said, they've got a ways to go. I'm encouraged ... better energy at both ends.

Great second quarter defense and solid first half for our point guard. As with the other night, let's see if they can build on this quarter.

Truly excellent last 6 minutes of that half. Just some great shut down defense and loved Pierce on Wade defensively and Rondo the whole quarter.

Nice finish to the half!  And KG has now made 13 straight FGs!  Gotta be close to his career best streak, amazing either way.

Let's keep it up in the 3rd quarter, we were really wearing them down at the end.

What are the refs trying to do here? Foul out the starters and main bench players of both teams? Perhaps they're closet fans of the end of benchers? Hoping to see a 4th quarter Giddens/Diawara shoot-out? What?!
Diawhatta? Diarrhea? Hiawatha?

Lol! Try saying THAT name, (Diawara), five times fast ... great tongue-tie.
