I think you underestimate the value of relieving them of Jeffries contract. It would allow them to potentially sign 2 high profile FA next summer, not one. They have every egg in that basket, and the basket is breaking due to the projected lower cap, and because -- well, who wants to help the knicks do that?
You could likely demand Chandler, Gallinari, Douglas or some combo for taking Jeffries or Curry. Think about it from new York's position.....
I'd been thinking about putting a deal like this in the forums over the past couple of weeks, but after looking at the knicks roster it's hard to see any of their young talent actually being worth it. Gallinari's a nice shooter, but he's got a bad back and he can't do much else. I like Chandlier, but is the desire to win there? Douglas looks like he could be good, but we just signed Rondo longterm. And if the discussed pick turns out to be low, we've done the Knicks a huge favor to get a JR Giddens.
