Big Baby might come back fatter depending on what he eats and what his exercise regimin is during the time he sits out.  If he eats right and does a lot of exercises including pushups, situps, running, pullups, bench press, military press, squat, deadlift, bicep curl, swimming, biking, etc., then he will come back fit.  However, if he doesn't work out properly and eats a bunch of garbage like doritos, fritos, ringdings, french fries, crunch n munch, milk duds, big macs, mozzerella sticks, jelly donuts, etc., then he will come back all bloated and flobbery.

BIG BABY UPDATE: The good news on Glen Davis is that Big Baby is getting smaller. He’s been working out every day since he injured his hand in a fight with one of his friends before the season-opener, and sometimes twice a day.

“He hasn’t gained a pound,” Rivers said. “So that’s a great update. That’s a goal for us is for him to come back lighter. He’s looked good. Some days he comes in the morning and works out and comes back at night and runs more.”

While he can’t shoot with his right hand in a cast, Davis has been working on his off-hand, as well.

I think BBD knows his job is a bit in jeopardy, and is working his butt off to be in the best shape possible. He may be young, but he's not stupid ... he'll be in top form when he returns.

Honestly, I'm not so sure.  Shelden Williams has been VERY efficient in 16 minutes a game - Leon Powe efficient.  Currently he has a PER above 20 and is averaging a solid number of points and rebounds for the time he gets.  Considering that KG and Sheed haven't been rebounding very much, and Baby is not a very good rebounder, I would not be quick to say that our team is better with Baby playing in place of Shelden.

TP to Crownsy and you.  You guys have done a superior job stating your case.

Davis doesn't add a dimension to this team.  He adds depth to a particular type of dimension.

Also, I completely disagree that Davis has great hands, bball IQ and "cerebral presence".  Last year he was one of the worst at rotating on defensive rotations.  In fairness, Powe made this same mistake often too.  Also, his "intangible" that you referred to was that he was too slow to move and respond initially in a play (or loose ball), and was forced dive/flop everywhere to catch up.  When Davis did this it always reminded me of the good ole' days of seeing Scalabrine dive for a ball (with inferior athleticism) and end up like 4' short lol.  It cracked me up everytime.

Also, Davis did not win us a game in Orlando.  He hit the winning shot when Pierce got double-teamed.  It was a great make, but the game was 48 minutes long.. it was won on many previous plays.  Like someone stated before, there's at least 6 people you'd want taking that shot ahead of him, still.

Good to hear he is coming back in shape.  Again, he'll add depth at a dimension, which is fine.

Davis does have great hands and BBIQ.  And you disagree with Doc, Danny and Heinson.  All have said that Davis has great hands and a great BBIQ.

Well Tommy has said that Shelden Williams, Blount, Vitaly, and POB have had great hands so I take that with a grain of salt... but in this case he's right about Davis.  He does have great hands and a good bball iq.

Slightly tangential, but do people really trust Tommy's evaluation of Celtics players at this point? ;)  I see people cite him as a source quite frequently, and it makes me chuckle a little.  I mean, is there any Celtics player who he hasn't thought was going to be a star?  Tommy definitely wears green colored glasses.

so so true.  I'm still waiting for Jerome Moiso and Milt Palacio to make the allstar team.

Except that Tommy wasn't the only one who said it.  Doc and Danny said it as well.  Anyways, don't have to agree with Tommy, I've seen it in Glen's play that he is a smart player and has good hands.
