What do you think?  You think he's taking the opportunity to spend every waking second on a treadmill or does the boo-boo to his fingy prevent him from exercising?

Will Obese come back fatter or will his foolish behavior humble him enough to get himself into shape?

I seen some fat woman on "The Biggest Loser" drop 100 pounds in a few weeks.  I'm expecting big things from Davis.

That´s borderline trolling, imo.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

someone just informed me he's working his left hand.

If i was trolling I'd add some comment about "to eat hamburgers with"... but I'm not doing that.

I am completely serious though.  If I'm the Celtics I'm unbelievably ticked off at him.  He signs an extension and then breaks his hand having a cat fight with some boy he's friends with?  If I'm the Celtics, I says to Obese... "look... we aren't going to suspend you.  But we're going to hire a few drill Instructors to destroy you until your finger heals".   I would hope this incident humbles and motivates Davis in a huge way.

Don't remember where exactly I heard that (probably during a Celtic game from Greg Dickerson) but Baby has been known to do a lot conditioning everyday, running hard to stay in shape for his comeback so I'm not worried about his weight.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
Maybe he will, maybe he wont.
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

I could see if he injured his leg or something that would prevent him for doing too much movement.  However, he injured his thumb, so he may not be able to shoot but I'd assume (actually hope) he'd be able to stay in shape.

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
There are hundreds of thousands of dollars tied to the weight clause in his contract.  I think that will be motivation for him to keep the pounds off.

BBD might like eating (and drinking, apparently), but he *loves* money.

He'll come back ready to play and he will be in shape. Glen Davis has a lot to prove after what happened, plus I really believe he can help this team. The Celtics have been missing his presence and he will be ready.

Do you have to make a fat joke every time you post anything concerning Davis. Its getting hard to take you seriously.

I think Roy's spot on if anything Davis will come back it good shape, he's got 100,000s riding on it. Not to mention his playing time!

Yeah, that and Shelden looking just as affective if not better.

Count me in agreement with GreenFaith, he'll come back in great shape. BBD has a lot to prove not only to his teammates but to himself and other GM's around the league who wouldnt offer him a contract. I think this team misses him more then people would like to admit. He adds a certain dimension that no other player on the squad brings.

do tell. What do you think he adds to our current big man rotation that isn't being provided?

Because other than his 15 ft jumper, which was a C+ at best, Sheldon is outplaying him in those minutes. I want a solid defender and rebounder in those minutes, and sheldon is providing that quite nicely.

Not saying that davis won't get minutes or won't be useful player once he's back, but i'd like clarification on what we dimension we are "missing" with him not in the rotation that "only he" provides.

Well, here's my attempt at analyzing what Glen Davis will bring to us:

Another Big to scrap down low, plus he has a decent jumper from outside. No he's not the greatest post threat we have but he is DEFINITELY a scrappy player.

Glen Davis won a playoff game for us last year against ORL.

Glen Davis will come back fired up with a lot to prove. That fire he will bring will add to helping the Celtics start off December in a good light.

Plus, Doc will be able to use platoon both him and Shelden, to exploit our opponents' weaknesses, just like he did with Powe and Glen back in the day.

TP, for the true statement. Sheldon has done the things BBD hasn't ever really done consistently, Rebound and defend. If you look at Baby's "big games", where he's scoring, he tends to forget the other stuff. We already have all the scoring and jump shooting we need from those positions. What we need is exactly what Sheldon has been giving us a consistent effort on the defensive end as well as the glass.

Well, Glen has a decent outside jumper. Shelden is more of an inside scorer. He does bring another dimension.
