lets just mail in the season and try to get it together in the playoffs.  We have peaked way too early the last two years.

oh... and trade Ray Allen.

Just because it's November isn't an excuse to just write off truly awful play and what appears to be a lack of real focus and effort.

Who's writing it off?

The performance has been awful the last two nights - I acknowledged that plenty elsewhere on site regarding last night's game and in my call in to CSL last night.  But with the possible exception of trouble defending in transition against two faster-paced teams, I'm not sure that major inherent flaw was exposed over the last two nights.

Defense, rebounding (Friday night) and foul shooting are primarily about effort and focus - and it's infuriating as a fan to watch the team on nights when they lack those things.  But those are things that I feel confident are fixable with relative ease in the big picture (FT shooting when it comes to Rondo being the possible exception there), especially with the group of players on this squad and the coaching staff.

There's plenty of reason to be upset as fans that we spent our weekend watching back-to-back lackluster performances from a "Man, this really messes up my weekend standpoint."  And by no means do I expect the coaching staff to "write off" the performance in the gym over the next couple of days.  I imagine they will work these guys, and rightfully so.

But as a fan, the idea of panicking big-picture style on November 14 is what seems silly to me, and that's why I posted the calendar image.

Fair enough.  It is easy to get really annoyed by the second loss in a row in two weekend nights.  I think the main source of this reaction is that the way this team played the first few games gave us some really high expectations and now we're being reminded that this team is mortal, perhaps even more moral than we would have guessed.

Absolutely, totally hear you on that.  Again, not good times - especially in the fourth quarter - either night, and I found myself plenty annoyed throughout the last 30-plus hours.  I'm just not ready to go too far off the deep end after a bad weekend against a couple of hungry teams - and it sounds like we're on the same page on that.

lol..and trade away the player who led us in scoring tonight? With Pierce banged up for the unforseable future, and KG still getting his legs back the last person we should trade is RA, IMO.

Trade him while his expiring contract has massive amounts of value and the team has time to readjust.  It's down hill from here.  ;)

I think all the garbage about this being the greatest defensive team of all time, and of breaking the Bulls' 72 victory record, before the first game was played, was alot of garbage, and it is coming to bite us in the arse.  We deserve this. You have to go out an play the games.  Let's get back to just trying to win the next game. This team is not all that special, at least not the way it is playing. We are a bunch of cry babies, blaming the refs when we don't get calls our way. That includes Doc.

Not time to panic, but it is safe to say, "Houston, we have a problem."

I agree with 90% of that.  There is an apparent double standard with the refs so far this season when it comes to physical play when it comes to the C's.  What we used to get away with we are not, and calls we used to get we are not (see the treatment of PP against Atlanta in our building).  Other than that, I agree with you.  We have gotten lethargic way too much and we are crying way too much.

I believe it's the Head coach's job to have a team ready to play, I don't care if the players are 100 years old.

There is no team oriented defense, no double at the high post and no one covering the weakside.

No finishing in the paint and no defending the paint.

@ what point do you start to question if the Head Coach has lost his team?

so what.
Ditto.  No panic here.  The goal is to go deep in the playoffs, not beat the Chicago Bulls' Win-Loss record.  There will be ups and downs throughout the season, and throughout the playoffs.

Ok, over dramatic? Well I'm kind of drunk, but I'm sure we'll be fine. Is it ironic, though.. that this song i'm listening to just meantioned how awesome the pacers are?
