2) Terrible rebounding on the defensive boards.  The Hawks had nearly as many offensive boards as we did defensive rebounds.  Atlanta was +18 on second chance points.

3) Horrific three point shooting.  1-for-14 isn't going to get it done.

4) Rondo's failure to look for his own shot.  When covered by Mike Bibby, you need to get to the hoop.

Overall, it was a very disappointing game; this one was easily winnable.

A few missed free throws in the 4th (when we finally got there) and a seemingly long run of calls that went against the celtics. Not the reason we lost, just one of the factors along with yours.

Bibby is still a good point guard, but most of his contributions of course are going to come on the offensive end.  He's not a horrific defender, but he's not a great one, either.  Rondo should be able to score on him, at least on occasion.

How long until other teams adopt a "Hack-a-Rondo" strategy at the end of games?  He's been pretty terrible from the stripe.

I fully agree with Roy. The lack of effort is the most disturbing part. It's too early in the season to be taking it easy. Also, wasn't Rondo supposed to improve his shot this year?

I don't want the Hawks against this team in the playoffs.  It would be the worst possible matchup out of anyone in the league.  They just always seem to beat our older guys to loose balls.  With that said, the refs did seem to be bent on keeping the Magic and Cavs close in the standings in the 4th...

I'm sorry guys, I jinxed us.

I tried playing as the Celtics vs the Hawks in NBA 2k10...and as usual I found it difficult to use the Celtics effectively, and got frustrated.  I ended up quitting the game halfway through, down 10 points or so to the Hawks after sputtering offensively and struggling defensively.

Sound familiar?

I need to remember that it's bad luck to play as the Celtics in NBA 2k10 - especially if I do it poorly.

some bad officating.   Push off by Crawford against Wallace,  Pierce got fouled at least twice on the way to the hoop, Perk should have went to the line on at least 2 more trips.  

Too unselfish play at least a couple times between KG and Rondo on switch offs.   KG has to shoot over Bibby on the switch and they botched that play at least a couple times.  

Wallace is not mixing it up enough.  Too many 3s from him.  

Not enough shots for Ray.  

Rondo missing the 2 foul shots was kind of like the nail in the coffin.

Look at a game like tonight. The Celtics were blatantly running the plays that Doc gave them. Hawks switched on every pick and roll so Celtics tried to mismatch KG and whoever. I like the offense better when Rondo kind of "Nashes" it and dribble around looking for action.

I believe you should turn over your console to me for the season. You know, just in case.

For long stretches in this game the offense was Pierce-centric in the half court, almost by design. Rondo didn't take it to Bibby but for lengthy periods in this game the ball was always in Pierce's hands creating the offense. Why Rondo would have been turned loose on Bibby is beyond me but it appeared like the ball was taken out of his hands for a portion of the game.

Boxing out and defensive intensity was awful as was the one on one defense on Jamal Crawford and Joe Johnson. Guards were getting beat and to the open area all night.
