"Please -- give it a rest on the calls"

Why because the refs are law enforcement backed up by the US Constitution?

I must say I was pretty vocal in my support of Rondo when he signed that big contract, but he has got to play better Defensively, at least. Bibby (and most other PGs) should not be able to do what they do against him.

Guy is blessed with some physical talent..long arms, quickness, hops....hopefully he'll start using these gifts soonest.

And he is a smart player as well...and seasoned.

I don't want to throw him under the bus yet, though...it's only one game.

I didn't physically see the game, but I guess the refs played a part in this too?

Interesting that Doc blamed the guards for not stopping penetration, forcing the bigs into help positions and putting them at big disadvantage off the boards.  Not sure I agree with that one, though when your team breaks down defensively like that, it's generally a team effort.

Just look at the box score from 10:00 to 3:30 in the 4th and let me know how the refs didn't play a part.  12 calls in a row.   If the odds are 50/50 to get a call, do you know what the odds of that happening is?  1 in 4,096.

"Lack of defensive effort and lack of rebounding effort loss this game, not the refs."

And do you think the calls that blatanly favored the Hawks gave them extra rebounds and extra points? The answer is yes.

Please -- give it a rest on the calls. The Celtics were beaten badly tonight. End of story.

Its not the end of the story because you just accept what the refs say.   NEWSFLASH:  Referees, officials and umpires are not law enforcment.  These calls don't go to the Supreme Court.    Just because a ref says this or says that, it doesn't mean they are right.  And it doesn't mean you can't argue against them either.    The way some of you act with refs, you act like they are law enforcement and whatever they say goes.  This is a sports game, stand up for what you believe in and realize exactly how refs cheat in certain games.   12 calls in a row in the 4th will do that to you.  I would say that 8 of those 12 calls were way off.
I say you are looking for an excuse to not blame the guys that lost the game, namely the players in green and the coach. The offensive game plan was to take the creativity out of Rondo's hands, send the offense through Pierce in the half court and when he wasn't on the court attempt a 1-4 screen and switch for a mismatch on Bibby with KG that worked awful because that's normally a 1-3 screen they run with Pierce.

The refs call what they see. Players have to deal and adapt and overcome. The refs did not determine this games outcome, the poor play of the C's and the good play of the Hawks did.

Easiest way to throw a basketball game.   Have a guy like Perkins go up and get fouled making a basket.    Call it the other way and then T up Perk.  If you people don't realize that I don't know what else to tell ya.

And I say nine were off. that's how you get the full spectrum of opinion on this whole Refs Cheat lie and steal and gamble agreement.  How many times can some grab Perks arm and as he tries to free it he gets called for a foul?  Every time. How many clear outs is crawfish aloud! I'm drunk but someone sure handed this game to those cocky losers. The Hawks looked like they on something. Just one game that got affected by bad 3 throw shooting ang some really bad calls. I'm so drunk I'm not going to make it to bed but if ione of those refs were here now I'd be conmiting a foul.( Probably no wearing pants or some other cheap crap.!!! Next Game Plaease!

Why do sports fans keep saying this?  Look if you get in trouble with the law, that's that, no arguing because you broke a law, the Supreme Court will uphold it and so will the US constitution.  There is nothing upholding these refs calls.  They are blatant cheaters and the more fans come up with comments like this, the more they will do it.

Star we lost because of second chance points from the Hawks and no rebounding whatsoever from our players. We've had much worse officiating in the past and won, the reffing tonight barely bothered me.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

When you get that many calls in a row against you what do you want the players to do? How do you expect them to play?      Stop using stats, and what you think is how the players played as an excuse for a string of calls like that.  Think about if the calls were even, then how do the stats look?  Alot better than they do now in the box score.
Lack of defensive effort and lack of rebounding effort loss this game, not the refs.

Let me ask you a question.  Suppose it is the NFL and there is one play left.   As time expires, say the Saints are down 21-17.   On the last play, Brees throws what looks to be a touchdown.  It goes to review.    If the Saints get the call they win the game, if they don't get the call they lose the game.  Now explain to me how the refs don't decide who wins that game.
Real simple because what actually happened on the field is what determines the game. The guy catches the ball and it's confirmed on film, Saints win. If he catches it but it is determined he was out of bounds, Saints lose. refs have nothing to do with it. The play does.

Same as in the NBA. Why do you feel it is impossible for one team to get twelve calls against them in a row. This isn't the first time this year it's happened and the C's have gotten that benefit as well.

Refs called a mediocre game but ultimately the C's lost this game not the refs.

If Perk moves on the court it's a foul on him. If some tries to hurt Perk. Foul on Perk. Perk needs to just bust someoneup. next game. So they can see what the standard is. Raise the Bar!!!

Look people I've seen this for 30 years.  The Celtics and Phillies get cheated on the field and in the media more than anyone.  I accept it.   It doesn't bother me.   I expect it to happen.  It doesn't mean what I am saying isn't correct.  The refs cheat, plain and simple and the more people don't want to admit, the more they do it. People in the 1980's weren't like this, now they just accept the fact and back the refs NO MATTER WHAT THE CALL IS.   Have you ever heard what the NBA, NFL, MLB says the day after a controversal call they say the refs get it right EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Because you've made your point. Repeating the same thing 20 times becomes old and annoying quite quickly.
