Duhon for Scal and Tony

Chris Duhon is an expiring contract. There is no value for the Knicks in dumping him for players who also have expiring contracts.

It would need to be a trade for talent. A superior talent in current ability or a cheap contract with long term potential (like a future draft pick). That's the only way the Knicks give up Duhon.

TP this is the most logical reason why this does not happen.

Now want to give the Knicks expiring contracts for Jeffries or Curry, now they will talk to you, though you may not want to talk to them.

They'll do more than talk to you. They'll beg you. They'll kiss your feet. They would pay 3 times Eddie Curry's salary to you in cash (if they could) if you'd trade them an expiring contract for him.

I am still hoping Tony comes back and plays a few solid minutes.  Remember that not long ago Scal could not get an inkling of positive regard on these pages -- and now he a gets a fair amount of praise for playing his role.  Actually, I'd hate to lose him as he's nice to have around for the playoffs.  As far as Tony goes, I think he's done, but I really hope that he shows something to improve both his trade value and his reputation amongst cbloggers.

I'm thinkin Duhon is worth more than that. But he's gettable if you replace either Scal or Tony with BBD instead. Don't think I'd do it though--we seem fine at PG, and every other position.

come on... there isn't a single team in the NBA that would trade an expiring contract of any kind for Scal and Tony.

Well, that depends on how strapped a team is and how much money they could save in the transaction. Even though teams need to come close in figures to complete a trade, there is still a scenario where a team could save over a million dealing their expiring for TA and Scal. I believe figures need to line up within 15-20% of each other.

OK, i just don't see that trade. Teams desperate for $1mil would be NOH (no one expiring), MIL (no one useless / expiring), NJ (no one useless / expiring) and MEM (no one expiring – Iverson is NOT included). The only deal I can see that makes sense in this vein is with SAC. It’s Scal, TA and Giddens for Kenny Thomas. It saves the Kings a little under 2 mil.

Wait, I found it! I found a trade that includes our end of the bench junk for an expiring contract! Kenny Thomas baby!!

I totally had that idea a few days ago, but was too lazy to check out the salaries on Trade Machine. TP dog!
