The Magic are losing 95-63 to the Thunder right now.  Does this mean anything?  Can a "contending" team move on from a beating like this?

Thunder's a VERY dangerous team...heck we struggled against the Nets last night (even though there were other factors involved).

Durant is a tough defend.

And the Magic have a bunch of folks out (Vince, R Lewis' suspension).

As long as the Magic are ready for Nov 20, I'm good. I'd like to see how they handle Boston at near full strength.

Games like this happen in the NBA. Especially on the road, and being short handed like Orlando is doesn't help at all.

Guess this gives Suns fans a really good argument at being #1 in the Power Rankings tomorrow huh?

I think this OKC team is going to be similar to last years Pacers.  They are going to have a number of quality wins, really turning it on for the great teams, while not having a great record overall.  I am not surprised by this at all.

Marc Stein is going to have a fit. I probably had everything figured out, putting the Magic at the top. Now he needs to rethink everything.

Well the celtics hopes are doomed following a 7-1 start according to some extreme threads, so i assume this means that the entire Orlando team will be shipped to the glue factory in the morning.

Back to reality for a second, no it doesn't mean that. Basketball, despite the sense of entitlement to win 80 games that abounds among championship contending teams, is not a game where one upset means your a awful team. Contending teams can and WILL lose to non-contenders.

One loss is not a problem, no matter how bad. A trend of losing the same way, or to similar styles of play, is much more telling.

You're going to do well against any team when you shoot 57%FG and 56%3FG.

I know that they will be just fine.  Obviously they're undermanned and whatnot.  But this one has to hurt.  They have no heart.  You need other guys to step up when your key players are out (see BBD)

I don't think the C's would have a problem beating these guys in a playoff series - even at full strength.

I agree with that line of thinking, but Im sure orlando fans could say the same thing about us after watching our play over the last two nights.

  • Thank you Eddie!
[dang] shame that this team isn't in Seattle anymore.  They actually gave a crap about the Sonics, even while they were moving to a section of the country where spring college football practice would come way before the Zombie Sonics in the pecking order of sports, regardless of how good they are.   >:( >:(

I love it. SVG decides to whinge about Orlando not getting the attention they deserve, so the team decides to respond by tanking the very next game to a middle of the road team (they're stock is definently on the way up of course)!

I like seeing Orlando lose, but they were playing without Rashard Lewis, Vince Carter, and Ryan Anderson.

Basically, that's like us playing without Pierce, Ray, and probably Rasheed (or at least BBD).  It's not representative of how good they are.

I think the Hawks are a better team than them.
