SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Sacramento Kings forward Andres Nocioni has been arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

Nocioni was booked into the Sacramento County jail at 6:26 a.m. ET Thursday. Sacramento police Sgt. Norm Leong says Nocioni was pulled over at about 2 a.m. in downtown Sacramento when an officer noticed his car weaving.

The officer noticed an odor of alcohol and conducted a field test before booking Nocioni on suspicion of driving under the influence.

The arrest came hours after the Kings lost a home game to the Atlanta Hawks on Wednesday night.

The Kings did not have any immediate comment.

people forget that James Posey had DUI baggage when we signed him.  He served his suspension as a Celtic.  All this does is potentially lower the asking price for Nocioni in a trade.

It's hard for me to imagine Nocioni having any trade value at all. He's a worse than the average bench player, but he's paid like a starter.

Ive always thought he was an above average bench player.  He did start for a while over in Chicago.

It's beyond me how professional athletes still get DUI's.

They are young men... Young men in general think nothing can hurt them / slow them down.

Add the ego of a pro athlete or celebrity or whatever, and that young man is going to think he can live life without consequence. This has been the way of things since the dawn of time, and will continue to be the way of things.

I don't condone it. They need to be punished. But I will never be surprised by this behavior.

I think the same thing.  Heck, most owners would come and pick you up if you called them and said you needed a ride when they consider the alternative.  Shouldn't the NBA have a 1-800 # for this like roadside assistance?

I see. It's okay for Delonte West to get caught with weapons. After hearing that, everyone dies for the hope that Cleveland can trade him to Boston or relase him so he can join us. But when Noicioni gets caught with a DUI all of a sudden he's a reject that nobody wants.
