It's beyond me how professional athletes still get DUI's.

I think the same thing.  Heck, most owners would come and pick you up if you called them and said you needed a ride when they consider the alternative.  Shouldn't the NBA have a 1-800 # for this like roadside assistance?

NBA players are no different than anyone else who gets caught with a DUI. Yes, they have more financial resources, but the decision still comes down to deciding to drive drunk or not. Someone with no cash has plenty of options to not get behind the wheel too.  Instead of hiring a limo, they can call a friend, ask someone who works at the bar, walk...whatever...The decision to drive drunk is still the same.  There are better options no matter who you are.

I see. It's okay for Delonte West to get caught with weapons. After hearing that, everyone dies for the hope that Cleveland can trade him to Boston or relase him so he can join us. But when Noicioni gets caught with a DUI all of a sudden he's a reject that nobody wants.

Delonte West is The Punisher all he was doing was hunting down bad guys. Drunk Driving kills good guys.

I think it's pretty ridiculous for NBA players to get DUI's as well. I guess it would never be that none of them will ever get one but i think financial resources is an absolute huge reason for them not to get one. They can pay for a cab, limo, friend or anyone to pick them up any time anywhere and it basically costs them nothing. Also I think being an NBA player you probably know that if you get a DUI it will be everywhere and millions of people will know about it. Where if a "regular" person gets one pretty much only a couple people will find out. It's like Paris Hilton getting a DUI. Why can't she just pay someone to drive her around when she drinks? The  only reason that I can think of for why they do it is because of ego and arrogance and thats pretty pathetic if that is the case
