I really don't get what the big deal is about the "is gonna respect me as a man" line, considering that here in the forum itself many get offended by the tiniest things.

I just cant picture myself ever saying that.  Talk about taking yourself to seriously.  It seems like he never got teased on the playground and learned that he is rubber and Rondo is glue and whatever Rondo says...

Seriously though, the guy is one step away from referring to himself in the third person. 

CP3 has always been pretty insufferable.  I have no problem with trash talk.  Heck, in basketball, I like trash talk.  But CP3 clearly can't handle it, and based on what he said, Rondo was in his head.  Well done by Rajon, but CP3 needs a thicker skin to survive in this league.

CP3 reminds me of LdT a lot.  Anyone who says they "need to be respected as a man" is not going to be respected as a man.

I like the comparison to LdT alot. He would always cry after a loss about how classy he is and how he felt disrespected. Paul is a very good player, but he needs a bit of humility I think. Puff peices from wojo won't help that.

Me too. Chris paul didn't have to sign with NO if he didn't want to. He could take less money to play for a better team. Chris Paul is a very good player but a winer.

For all the talk about how amazing CP3 is (mostly coming from CP3 himself), I can't get over the fact that the guy has accomplished nothing.  In his career, the Hornets are a .556 team.  In his career, when he's been absent, they are 12-12, a .500 team.  CP3 can throw his teammates under the bus, but he's not on a brutal team, there is talent around him, and he needs to stop (indirectly or directly) blaming his supporting cast if he's truly a premier player.

Most of those games came in his first two years, when he wasn't as established has he's been in the last 2, and the players at that time were better than the ones currently on the roster.

Last year he missed 4 games. They went 2 and 2. The two wins were against Toronto and Minnesota... they lost against Memphis without him.

The previous year he missed 2 games. Again, won against Minnesota.

I don't think this proves anything on how good of a team they're without him. Luck of the draw of easy opponents during the stretch he wasn't playing explains most of it.

I really don't understand the overall over-analysis and rationalizations people are coming up with to discredit CP3 as a player. He's an extremely good player through and through.

He is a very good player, there is no denying that.  But he is not an elite player, and he wants to be considered one.  His little rants and outbursts are comical.  I strongly dislike CP3 and I am enjoying seeing him come down a notch, b/c I do feel his perceived value has exceeded his actual value.

I'm not sure what NBA you're watching, but CP3 is an elite player.

Anyone catch Mike Gorman's comment during the game, that CP3 always seems to be angry on the court? I thought it was spot on.

Chirping about missed calls, woofing at his opponents, Paul's demeanor on court is a perpetual scowl. I don't recall ever seeing him smile during a game. He seems to play with a huge chip on his shoulder. Does he even enjoy playing the game?

Great players always seem to use adversity and negativity to take their play to the next level. While his anger may help his game, it's not going to win him any fans. Taken too far, the "me vs. the world" mentality may eventually do him some harm.

The fire that burns twice as bright burns half as long. CP3's bright, burning star may flame out before we know it.

I think he's an awesome scorer who racks up assists do to the fact that he's in a system completely based on him.... and Tyson Chandler (note the drop in asts)

Not that I'm too much into metrics - but in his MVP caliber year, and as the MVP debate went on, it was brought up that CP3's defense was so poor statistically that it offset his offensive contributions (according to metrics).  I know these defensive metrics can be very flawed, but it matches what I see in my eyes.  He's good for steals, but he's not a good defensive player.  In his defense, I believe his defensive metrics were vastly improved last season.

CP3 is an elite fantasy basketball player.  He's not yet an elite player with the likes of Lebron/Kobe, no way.

CP3 isn't a great defender, but he's not a bad one either. Most rating systems have him in the upper tier of PGs. Usually slightly below Rondo, sometimes slightly above.
