Tony Allen for Corey Brewer?

Ok, the idea of BBD for Yi was seemingly hated throughout CB...we'll leave it at that..

Since we all agree Tony needs to go, then how bout Corey Brewer. Still on his rookie contract, Minny recently chose to use the team option on him. Young slasher SF that likes to play D. Can hit the 3 at times.

Obviously Tony Allen is worth nothing without at least a draft pick and another prospect so add in Giddens here with a 2nd rounder and that should be able to get us Brewer? I love the team the way it is MINUS Tony. He'll be inactive all season at least get us someone better, plus Bill Walker will be out for awhile.

Keep the pick, Tony and Giddens and try to move them with Scal for more of a rotation player, if at all possible.

I like the idea of TA for Brewer, Brewer has been playing very well so far this season despite only a couple games into it, he can contribute to our team I dare say, he's got  great D and seems to have improved

I agree with my Homie, The Toast ... certainly a more difficult scenario, but ultimately much more worth the time energy involved. (TP)

Wow, I don't know if you just haven't been paying attention to Brewer this year, or if you just think way too much of the C's guys.  Brewer has been very good so far this season.  He has been playing great defense, scoring, rebounding, and in the preseason, he was even stroking the 3 pretty well (not as much so far in the regular season, but its early).

Brewer may have been a huge reach where he went in the draft, and I think that has hurt him a bit, but he is a player.  He is going to be a very good NBA player for a long time, and he is currently solidifying his spot as part of Minnesota's young core.

Exactly.  Brewer is much better than anyone expendable on our roster.

I agree.

I'd almost feel guilty about even making that phone call because of what I'd be offering them in return.  It would be like going to sell Girl Scout Cookies to your co-workers only to have them discover that what you were really selling is the Grasshopper Cookie box with a turd inside.

In other words, Brewer is still young, he's playing well and he has value in the league's eyes.  TA has a few years on him and some injury history on top of the fact that no one values him at all (including the fans of the team he is currently with).

While I don't ever want to rule out any trade that might improve the C's, it does seem a little silly for us to be concerned about making trades that involve us trading away end-of-the-bench players for more end-of-the-bench players.  For me, the debate whether TA or Corey Brewer is better is moot since neither could crack the rotation here. 

Plus, if the only circumstance that TA or Brewer gets in is an injury or a blow out, in the case of the injury, wouldn't TA be the better bet since he's been around and knows the plays and the players?

I think Corey Brewer would immediately be in the rotation for this team.  He is one of the best young defenders in the league, and a decent offensive player.  He also has shown in college that he thrives playing as a role player within a system.

Maybe on another team, but where exactly is he going to find minutes here?  So far no other bench player at the 1-3 has gotten meaningful, non-blow out minutes besides House and Daniels.  Is he going to displace one of them?  I don't think so. 

Personally, I'd rather him here than Allen, so I'd go for the deal.  I don't see Minnie doing it though.  If they wouldn't trade him for Allen straight up, Giddens and a 2nd rounder certainly aren't going to sweeten the pot. 

But I ultimately don't think it'd matter that much.  Who plays when we're up by 20 doesn't matter that much.

They just picked up his option for next year. Tony Allen can't walk. Why would they do it? To offer our junk you have to be willing to take back salary or a bad player.

I don't understand why some people are saying Brewer is good... Are you confused with Ronnie Brewer? Cause yea, that guy's good.

Corey Brewer, though is awful. He chucks more than ANY player i've ever seen given his minutes. Yea he's putting up a good looking scoring number this season through his four games, but on well under 40% shooting.

The only time he even got past that 40% mark was once over 15 games before he tore his ACL last season, and that was still only 41% oh, and he's never been an outside shooter, honestly, in that category him and Tony are equal. They both are pretty not good at best.

He's a good rebounder, though. I'll give him that.
