Both players have said complimentary things about it each other post-game. They probably weren't sincere but at least they were trying to be tactful. Not sure what Byron Scott is trying to do here fanning the flames of this grade-school drama.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

This "disrespect" issue athletes, and a lot of society in general I guess, have is an absolute joke. What a bunch of childish, egotistical, selfish people. If you want someone to respect you as a man CP3 try acting like one instead of a 7th grader. The rest of us grown up's have realized that when someone else treats you bad its usually more THEIR issue than anything else. Grow up and act like the man you want to be treated as. This just makes you look more the punk.

Looks to me like Wojo going out of his way to make another story out of nothing.

Anytime the report is via Twitter, doesn't it just scream 'publicity stunt'?

Im not even sure what that means but CP obviously is taking offense to the talk Rondo is dishing. I love the competitive spirit and generally I love smack talking as long as we dont go barking up the wrong tree.

In this case for instance, I think it can knock a guy like Chris Paul off of his game. Where as a guy like MJ or KG or even (gulp) Kobe seems to be able to take trash talking and channel it into this hyper competitive mode where they cannot be stopped.

I love the intensity and I love that we have locked up a young point guard who can be mentioned in the same class as Chris Paul.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Sounds like Rondo got in CP3's head.

Seriously What can you say to challenge a guys manhood in a bball game? I mean is their something KG hasn't said? Unless Rondo is saying something truly offensive I'm liking this.

Settle down Chris.

Byron, stop instigating.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

The NBA is reviewing events during and after Sunday's game between the Boston Celtics and New Orleans Hornets for possible sanctions after tensions ran high all night between star guards Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul.

The league office confirmed Monday night that a formal review has been opened after Paul and Rondo tangled under the basket in the second quarter, resulting in each player being assessed a technical foul. Media accounts from the game also suggested that Rondo and Paul exchanged heated words after the final buzzer that eventually prompted Paul to try to follow Rondo off the floor.

I really hope they leave Paul and Rondo alone.  This incident didn't warrant all of this media coverage, and it certainly doesn't warrant fines or suspensions.  Players should be allowed to be competitive.

The league is pathetic when it comes to handling those things. Leave them alone, this is basketball, not a ballet. Just two competitive guys doing their job. It used to be different...

It really is a low down dirty shame that we all have to wait until Feb 10th to play the Hornets again.

We are going to blow them out so badly on their home court...I can't wait! ;D
