Can't wait until the Orlando game.  We could (and in all likelyhood will) lose a game before then; crap happens, guys come out flat, the other team hits a few shots, and an upset occurs.

Orlando, though...  they'll be up for that game.  *If* Carter can fit in, they're a team that makes me nervous.  Even though Perk plays him better than anyone else, Dwight Howard is still a beast.  Rashard Lewis can match up on KG/'Sheed better than anyone on Cleveland's team, and makes our guys defend him out to the 3-point line.  We didn't see Jameer in the playoffs.

Overall, it's the combination of being very athletic AND battle-tested that makes me concerned.   I think we're clearly better, but I'm more worried at this point about matchin up against the Magic than I am about the Cavs.

I don't see Phoenix, Utah, Atlanta or Orlando as a problem - not at home.  Orlando, especially, will probably get a dose of the angry prove-my-point-over-your-body Celtics.

I see Indiana as the first possible stumbling block.  They've given us problems in the past, they're the second game of a back-to-back and they're coming right after a competitive game against ATL.  Granger might have to score 40 to do it, but their shooting bigs have given us trouble before so I could see them upsetting us again.

Other than that (and even that's a big reach), I don't really fear any of those games.

You are underrating Orlando.  They have a pretty deep team and have been blowing the competition away.  They are also undefeated.

Clearly the ones that will give us our first loss will be ourselves because honestly the only way this team loses is by beating themselves.

I knew I should've gone with my 82-0 prediction, but I hesitated.

I'm pretty sure we're going 82-0 and then running the table in the playoffs. And I'm not sure who, but I'm thinking there'll be co-MVPs from the Celts.

How's Jameer Nelson looked coming back this year?

I'm voting this year's All Star game.  We're going to send our starting five, but they'll lose to the Western Conference.

Nelson is his old self, looks really good.

In answer to OP: Scalabrine.

Well, I suspect that we won't be beating the '72 Laker's record of 33 straight wins.

So keep a look out, near games 30 to 32, which is GS, Phoenix, and Toronto during the Christmas/New Year's week.

Toronto could flat outscore the C's for one game.

Only correct answer to this question.  We won't be beating ourselves this year.

Toronto could flat outscore the C's for one game.

If Boston played Toronto 100 times they would beat them 100 times, IMO.

Boston is quite possibly the worst match up for Toronto.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
If we survive Indiana, we wont get past the Wizzards.
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

Based strictly on opposing talent and the location of the game: 12/3 at San Antonio.  No one should beat this team at home (certainly not the teams scheduled by then) and the road teams are not good enough to beat the C's.

San Antonio is no sure thing to beat the C's but they are very good and playing at home.  Probably good for an extra 10 points for them.  Also, there's no anticipated "we're going to show them who's best" hunger for the C's like they would have playing against the Lakers, Cavs or Orlando.
