Agreed. He also added about $5mm to Rondo's pockets with his praise tonight. Well deserved, though.

I hope we get some good news Sunday in the pregame show that the C's have completed a 6 year/$72 million deal.

I love Rondo too. 2 straight games Rondo on Point, and the results speaks for itself. If he continue to put on this effort everynight, O Boy look out. We will be talking in + $70million range contract. I think Rondo's agent called Ainge's bluff, your move Ainge. Ainge smart business man, and lowballed Rondo. Somethings tells me a Contract will be signed this weekend.

Rondo should be signed asap. We are talking about a guy that dominates a game scoring 2 points... He is like a mini KG!! Danny, get it done today!! :)

I hope we get some good news Sunday in the pregame show that the C's have completed a 6 year/$72 million deal.

I hope we find out that we signed him to a 6 year 60 million dollar deal so we have a little more flexibility when it comes time to restock the big three. Unfortunately I think your number is a little more likely if it gets done this weekend.

Yeah, if it's six years it's going to have to be in the $72-$78 million range. I can see a six year deal with years of 9.5/10.5/11.5/12.5/13.5/14.5 for $73 million getting done. It's an extremely reasonable contract for the first few years at prices below market value for a top 5 PG in the NBA.

Neither side wants to risk passing on a good deal in the 50's.  They're pretty obviously on track and probably just nailing down the details about now.  Good news.

I think you are right, but I hope that Danny and Wyc can talk them down a hair just to help our flexibility and maybe make up some of the compromise with incentives ala BBD's weight incentive.  If they can meet in the middle with some benchmarks built in to keep Rajon extra motivated, we're all good.

I am pretty sure they can only sign him to a 5 year deal.  He would be locked up for 6 years, because the contract would kick in after this season, but the new contract would only be for 5 years.  If they waited until after the season, then they could sign him for 6 years.

Williams, Paul, Arenas, Billups, and Rage.

I think he's definitely in the discussion along with Nash, Kidd, Parker, and Davis for that 5th spot.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
